As a concerned customer, I am just wondering why Rogers on Demand is gone when it was part of the service agreement I negotiated. I will not pay extra for Stack TV, to bring back Rogers on Demand! I am a deeply concerned customer and I am considering looking elsewhere for service, or just going off the grid.
Solved! Solved! Go to Solution.

Thanks for the information, all I know is that Rogers On Demand is what was included in my Rogers Ignite Bundle, and now it is gone? I also know Rogers bought Shaw Communications in 2023 and Shaw owned Stack TV before the purchase???
On Demand content is not totally gone, and not all channels have or ever had content available On Demand. Not all channels had Restart capability either. However, for whatever reason, Rogers stopped offering content On Demand for Global, CTV and CityTV as of January, 2025. (For official confirmation from Rogers, see here.)
But, yeah. I am not happy about this change either. Rogers keeps increasing prices, supposedly to improve their services but quite the opposite is happening.

As of January, Rogers stopped making content from Global, CTV and a few other channels available on-demand. We do not know why they did this; they just did.
You might be able to access the on-demand content that you are looking for through the Global TV or CTV apps on your favourite mobile device or streaming platform.

Maybe they should provide a place to see a program that has been cut short due to using the dvr . This happened the other night watching the The equalizer, was cut short by 20 minutes.
I will take this into consideration when my 2 year contract comes up...keeps getting worse.

To be honest, I don't know whether this is something that Rogers can fix. If Rogers cannot get content rights to provide programming On Demand, they cannot offer it. Global is trying to do whatever they can to "encourage" viewers to subscribe to Stack TV. Bell is only offering some content On Demand on Crave, and making it very easy to subscribe to TSN. Rogers is putting their On Demand content on Citytv+. Paramount is also withholding content and trying to drive more Paramount+ subscribers.
And this is why more and more people are ditching their TV services.

Are you perhaps still a NextBox user? I ask because I was a NextBox user and also experienced the complete removal of On Demand services recently on the older Rogers platform. They have done this to encourage NextBox users to upgrade to the Xfinity service which I did since it was included in my building's bulk contract as part of their technological update to the newer system.
I had simply been delaying the update to Xfinity due to recorded content on the NextBox PVR that I hadn't watched yet. The main reason I switched recently was because the 4K NextBox PVR became flaky with short recordings and Playback failing randomly thus making me miss much of the content that I wanted to watch which is why I was recording it on the PVR in the first place.
Now that I'm an Xfinity user, I can use the Guide, Voice Remote or On Demand option to find the shows that the 4K NextBox PVR messed up for me and thus catch up on the missed or interrupted programs.
If you are an Xfinity user, content on CityTV+ can be accessed via the CityTV+ app in the Apps section.
Good Luck!

Read below it's a rights thing with Global and CTV. They want you to get Stack TV, pay for more.
You can get the CTV and Global aps on your tablet, phone etc, then chromecast them to your tv. Too Bad this is happening.
