With Rogers Xfinity (app), you can use Downtime Schedules to bring designated devices offline to make sure the whole household gets a good night’s rest, focused study time and more. While paused, these devices will not be able to access the internet via your Rogers Xfinity Internet WiFi network.

You can create up to 30 Downtime Schedules per profile. Just note that schedules cannot overlap in time.

Rogers Xfinity (app) is available exclusively for Rogers Xfinity Internet customers with the Rogers Xfinity Gateway modem. Not sure if this is your modem? Check under “Internet” on your MyRogers account.

  1. Open the Rogers Xfinity (app) and sign in using your MyRogers username and password.
  2. Select People.
  3. Select the profile for which you want to create a Downtime Schedule.
    • If you want to apply a Downtime Schedule to a new profile, select Create a Profile and follow the prompts.
  4. Select the Settings icon

at the top right of the screen to access customization options. The options will only appear if you have devices assigned to your user profile.
  5. For the Downtime option, select Create Schedule.
  6. Follow the prompts to choose an icon and name for your new schedule.
  7. Select the day(s) of the week and times you want to automatically pause access (start downtime) and resume access (end downtime) for all the devices associated to the profile.
  8. Select Apply to confirm.

To remove a Downtime Schedule for a user profile, follow steps 1 to 4 above, select the desired schedule and select Delete Schedule.

What access is blocked by Downtime Schedules?

During scheduled downtimes, the devices assigned to the selected user profile will be “paused.” This means they will be blocked from accessing the internet when connected to your Rogers Xfinity Internet WiFi network or via Ethernet.

Note: If your profile includes Rogers Xfinity Entertainment Boxes, they cannot be paused using Downtime Schedules, so your entertainment service is not interrupted.

If a user tries to access the internet on a paused device, a message will display saying that the content cannot be reached or that the internet is down.

Considerations to keep in mind:

  • Pausing a device may not immediately disrupt activity already in progress on that device.
  • The Pause function does not block the following:
    • Internet access for a device using cellular data (i.e. LTE)
    • Internet access from a public WiFi hotspot or a WiFi network other than your Rogers Xfinity Internet WiFi network.
    • Access to other devices connected to your home WiFi network, such as a network printer.
  • Rogers Xfinity Entertainment Boxes cannot be paused.
