What's difference between Huawei LS-S5328C-PWR-EI and LS-S5328C-PWR-SI

Jessicalee123
I've been around

Huawei LS-S5328C-PWR-EI Overview:
PoE switch
24 10/100/1000Base-T
Chassis and Dual Slots of power
Without Flexible Card and Power Module

Huawei LS-S5328C-PWR-SI Overview:
PoE switch
24 10/100/1000Base-T and 4 100/1000Base-X Combo
Chassis and Dual Slots of power
Without Flexible Card and Power Module
Basic layer 3 Features

From thoes two switch overview, there are two big difference:
1.LS-S5328C-PWR-EI is 24 10/100/1000Base-T while LS-S5328C-PWR-SI is 20 10/100/1000Base-T and 4 GE Combo.

2.Their software is different, for difference of 5300 EI(Enhanced) and SI(Standard).

Hey @Jessicalee123

Welcome to the community Smiley Happy

I myself don't have much experience with Huawei devices.

@Meowmix care to weigh in here?

Thanks

I also think @Datalink might know more about this as well.

On side note: I found https://community.shaw.ca/thread/31892 seems like you are looking for answers on Shaw side as well lol (Was doing some research for an answer haha)

Have you checked the Huawei site for comparison?

S5328C-PWR-SI Mainframe(24 10/100/1000Base-T,4 100/1000Base-X Combo,PoE,Chassis,Dual Slots of power,Without Flexible Card and Power Module

S5328C-PWR-EI Mainframe(24 10/100/1000Base-T,PoE,Chassis,Dual Slots of power,Without Flexible Card and Power Module)

Green is similarity.

There is your Difference. The one in RED. Based on the Link you provided. The SI has 4 100/1000 Base Combo built in within the 24 ports. From the 24 ports I assume it would have 4 that supports higher tier of connection.

Hope this helps @Jessicalee123

Or @Datalink / @Meowmix can assist as well.

It isn't a significant difference in the hardware, they are the same series and same board which a slight change - $20 difference only. Would you need the 4 100/1000 ports? If not save the $20 dollars (based on the pricing router-switch website)...

Keep in mind both are still 24 switch ports. SI just has 4 from the 24 port at higher speed. (In other words 20 + 4 for SI)

Okay that's all I got... x__X
