Too bad our government not only allows, but encourages monopolies among our cell phone providers ( watch the Rogers / Shaw merger to make things worse). Otherwise, these companies would care more about their customers in the face of increased competition.
rogers and others have the ability to make cell service available in the subway. This is 100% about money; they have to pay a fee to a more nimble provider who was smart enough to sew up a long term agreement to be the infrastructure provider in the subway system.
So, rather than put your safety and convenience ahead of their bottom line, Rogers won’t pay up.
