In Windows, running msconfig (Start menu->Run->msconfig) allows you to configure what services and applications will start on system startup. This can be helpful when wanting to disable unnecessary resources from automatically being used.
For Android users:
If you sign into the market from your PC web-browser at http://market.android.com, you can see all of your registered Android devices and the applications that you have downloaded. You can also choose to install new apps right from the browser and they will automatically start downloading to your Android device(s).
Avoid roaming charges while at the beach. (or close to the US border)
Was at the beach this weekend and noticed that I lost my Rogers signal and was using a US carrier. Quickly went into my iphone settings under Carrier and changed it from automatic to ROGERS.
Did a similar change to the kid’s blackberry’s as they too had picked up the US carrier and hadn’t noticed. Could have racked up a nice little bill as they are constantly texting and bbm’ing. (Even at the beach)
