This holiday season, Rogers and the Community Forums wants to keep you free and clear of all and any fraud attempts. It can go by many names;
Spam: Usually emails with compromised links or images containing malware and/or viruses
Phishing: Also usually emails, specifically designed to trick you into divulging personal and/or financial information
Smishing: SMS Phishing
Vishing: Voice Phishing
If you receive a Spam call or Vishing call DO NOT respond. Hang up immediately.
If you receive a Phishing email or Smishing SMS DO NOT open or click on it. Delete it immediately.
For Smishing specifically, you can forward the content of the SMS to 7726 (SPAM), to register it for investigation and blocking from Rogers/Fido network. (Messages sent to 7726 will be analysed in batches as they are received.
