Could someone tell what is the purpose of Nokia ONT in FTTH setup, can it be removed?

Hi, I recently moved from Bell FTTH to Rogers FTTH My setup with bell was straight forward, Fiber from outside demarc was plugged to Juniper SRX340 (was using the Nokia SFP Bell Provided). Juniper SRX was doing the PPPoe and everything worked well....

Looks like it will not work on Xpeira 1 II. This is what I did.1. disable DSDS.2. Set preferred network type: NR Only Waited for 5 mins, and still no network

Hi,I have Xperia 1 II (XQ-AT52) dual sim version and also don't get 5G. I tried turning off DSDS. but it toggles back one when I exit the menu.

Ok I guess I have a clear idea of what it does. Reason of why - Networking Curosity can you answer thisIs rogers authenticating with its mac address and SN?

Thanks for the explanation,but still my question stays that what is it doing?And yes, For my why, there are many reasons to remove it.Is rogers authenticating with its mac address?Why rogers does not want it to be bypassed ?
