iPhone 8. I recently switched my service from Shaw to Rogers. The phone receives, stores and plays back, incoming voicemails, but the Voicemail icon is now missing the red dot alerting me to new voice mails. Is it possible to fix this issue?

I visited my local Rogers shop. The associate that helped me said that since my Rogers’ service included the text message alert feature, the New Voicemail red Badge was redundant and not available any longer. Is he correct?
