I have done that, without too much difficulty, but my experience is that it is sometimes difficult or impossible to get through to Customer Services! So my point still stands...
Defaulting you on to an expensive service and making it difficult or close to impossible to get off it is something close to criminal. The app should allow you to stop the service.
