Wireless Home Phone Modem Issue

I purchased my wireless home phone modem and now its not working. I was told I would have to purchase another one. Why??? **Labels Added**

There is no power when plugged in. I have had the router for at least 6 years.I have already spoke to a tech. There is no reset button on it at all. He said I will have to get a new router at my expense. Currently looki g at other options.
