If I have Rogers Wireless and get Ignite for TV/internet, can I use the same wireless number for both wireless and the home phone?

Some friends are telling us that they sent Text messages, which we are not receiving. They are infrequent but random. Just today, I did not receive one on our second device (Samsung). Is this a common Rogers issue?

So to be clear, if I am out of country with Airplane Mode turned on and WiFi calling enabled, I can receive and send calls to and from Canada with no charges, but if I call WITHIN that other country, then Roaming charges apply?Thanks.
