Reminders Not Always Working

I have two reminders set up for CTV National News at 11PM.  There is one reminder for weekdays and one for weekends since the title is slightly different due to different newscasters.

I can view them under my "scheduled recordings - reminders" and they are always there - two weeks of them.  However, some evenings the reminder doesn't come up.  I'd say probably once or twice a week the reminder doesn't work.  

I have these reminders set up because I like to watch the news "live" and also because there's something I need to do personally at 11PM and this reminds me to do that.  I'm usually watching a recording because the only live TV I watch is the first few minutes of the 11PM news.  Sometimes, if I've just finished watching a recording and I notice that it's almost 11PM, I'll switch to CP24, where the reminder should come up at 10:59:30, but sometimes it doesn't.  I have not found a pattern.  Anyone else use reminders and do you find they sometimes don't work?

I forgot about that Ignite TV advantage of being able to see a list of your reminders.

As you know, I can only see my reminders when I use the Guide (if I happen to be displaying the channel(s) with a reminder.

I get reminders 1 minute before the programme airs, but if I don't click it away, I'll get another reminder five miniutes after the programme started.

However, if I'm watching a recording, and let's say my box is on CTV before I know I'm supposed to get a CTV reminder at 10:59, the reminder won't appear because my box knows I'm on CTV already.

Perhaps with Ignite TV, perhaps if you were watching CTV, even 30 minutes before the CTV News, that might block the IgniteTV reminder from appearing.

Are you switching to CP24, just to make sure you are not on CTV? And since CP24 is a News channel, also owned by Bell, could that be confusing the reminder algorithm? Highly unlikely, but there are plenty of silly recording issues with Ignite TV and Legacy Digital, so nothing would surprise me!

By the way, if you can still get CTV reminders even while you are watching CTV, that would be another Ignite TV advantage.

I noticed in a Xfinity thread from about 3 years ago, that mentioned it was perhaps a firmware update or other problem with intermittent reminder failures.

One workaround was to change each Reminder that you want to always work, from 'All TVs" to "This TV only."

If this a different software update or error, the workaround might not work.

I was on "This TV Only".  I have changed it to "All TVs"  a couple of days ago and we'll see if that helps.  The reminder did come up last night.  If I'm already on CTV (which is rarely the case, unless I switched to it seeing that 11PM is approaching) there is a slightly different reminder that comes on screen that is more subdued (writing near the top of the screen) rather than the large "pop-up" that comes up if you're watching a recording or different channel.
