How do I record a show I have already watched?

mikey546
I've been around

I just switched to ignite a couple of days ago and I would like to know is there a way to get the new system to record what I've already watched?
I.e I am watching a 2hr show and say half way in I want to record the whole thing for myself or someone else to watch later.
With Nextbox I could press record at any point and it would record what I already watched (assuming I didn't change the channel yet).
From what I see ignite does not let me do this.
Can anyone tell me if this is correvt?

Unfortunately, that is correct.  There is no way to do this with Ignite.

With a conventional PVR, with local storage, If you had started to watch a program from the beginning, then decided to record it, the PVR could save its buffered content (which may or may not already be stored on-disk, depending on the implementation) and then continue to record the remainder of the program.  Cloud PVRs to not work that way.  Pressing "record" will initiate recording of the program from that point onward but there is no way to also save content that was buffered locally.

The only thing that you an do is look for when that program will be rebroadcast and set that upcoming episode to record.

I concur, cloud pvrs work different than mechanical pvrs so you have to look for a rebroadcast of the program and record that.

The programme may be available on-demand.  Say the name of the programme into the voice command remote control to see.
