Is there a way to turn it off? I like to wake up with the TV on.
Also, when I turn on my tv it always displays the screen saver, I have to press the Rogers button for the TV to come on.

Hello @MonCheri,
Welcome to the Rogers Community Forums! 😃
I can see how the screen saver feature my not be enjoyed by all customers as it does result in a button press to actually wake up the TV.
I have reviewed the Settings on my end and there does not appear to be an option to disable the screen saver but you can set it to trigger after 5 hours rather than the default 5 minutes. From my understanding, the screen saver prevents the system from constantly streaming content. This allows you to save some energy usage as consistent streaming for 24 hours a day can really add up over the period of a year.
If the current screen saver is not to your liking you can change it between Landscapes, Animals or Entertainment (Pop Culture references) The specific settings can be found by pressing the "Rogers" button on the remote, scroll over to the far right and select on the gear shaped icon to access the Settings, scroll down to "Device Settings", then scroll down to "Screen Saver".
I hope this helps!

Rogers need to add option to disable this.

Rogers needs to fix this. Rogers should have an option for screensaver that says NEVER. Since with Ignite you get unlimited internet and I think Rogers has done this intentionally so after a set amount of time, the box goes into screensaver and you stop receiving streamed data. It needs to be fixed. When we are out we like to keep a TV on in our main room for a bit of noise for our retriever. Now screensaver kicks in after 5 hours, and anyone that comes to the front door may have a good indication nobody is home with the screensaver in plain view of the front door. ...security issue?

I just got Ignite TV. I watch CNBC stock market channel all day without touching the remote. Now after 5? hours it goes off into screensaver. I have read there is no way to change this so here is my vote to add a "NEVER" option on the screen saver and fix the "all power" button so it puts the ignite box into standby or off.

Seems the screen saver issue after 5 hours is what it is, but think that needs to be fixed. Putting the power into standby or off may cause a problem with updates to the box, so just when you are into an interesting part of the movie or sport you are watching, it may go into update mode and recylce your box off at the most inappropriate time. If you think of the old cable boxes, you could never turn it off, ...but could shut off as I recall the display so you don't have bright lights coming from the box if that box happened to be in your bedroom. This allowed for updates.

This is very annoying. My screen saver was set for 5 minutes(it is now set to 5 hours). It wasn't comming on after 5 minutes but after some hours. It shouldn't be comming on at all; period, when we are watching TV. The strange part about this is the audio continues while the screen saver is displayed.

Screen saver does not come on when tv turned on in morning on ignite tv does this mean that it could be a problem

@ghaase2017 All my boxes have the screen saver set for 5 hours, and power saving mode. When turning on the TV in the morning two of the boxes go to the last channel watched, while one of them always brings up the screen saver. No idea why. I would prefer to turn on the TV and go to the last channel watched. Don't need to see a screen saver when the box is coming out of power saving mode.

@5girlsand1lady Would that not prevent the box from getting updates though?

Not as far as I can tell. The box is still technically on and still connected to the network... just not actively streaming data.
I use the "Power Down" voice command all the time and then turn my TV off with the "TV Power" button on the remote.

Hi, I have a Samsung 55RU7100 with integrated Smart Things hub that I have connected to Alexa, so that's how that works.
Unless Ignite has a Alexa skill that I was not aware of, she doesn't know what a 'Roger's box' is.

As far as I know, the Rogers Ignite (and Comcast Xfinity) boxes don't (currently) integrate with Alexa directly. You'd need a 3rd-party device to enable this... such as a BroadLink RM pro or an Alexa-enabled Harmony remote.

Most TVs have HDMI-CEC available. I believe that the Ignite box doesn't have HDMI-CEC enabled, but if they wrote some firmware to enable it, the box could come on when the TV turns on. Something to ask Rogers/Comcast for...
It's somewhat strange because the Rogers box does utilize HDMI to "sense" what the TV's input capabilities are in terms of video (1080P, 4K, etc), so you'd think it would be easy to enable an "on" functionality in the box when the TV comes on.
Since any button on the Rogers Ignite remote will "wake" the Rogers box, anyone who is truly wanting to watch TV with the box will need to use the Ignite remote (button/voice) to tune to a channel or watch a recording, etc.
I suppose once Ignite is fully integrated with Alexa, things would work as you want, but that's a lot more than the screensaver issue. Another thing to ask Rogers/Comcast for...

Hahaha - oh great, another remote for my wife to get mad at me about.
Appreciate the reply, but for this single annoyance, I am not going to go out and buy a harmany.

Yes, i agree that we have gone beyond the screen saver request ...
