Every time I turn on my 4K NEXTBOX, I have to go to TV appearance and pick ultraHD TV
and the next time I will turn it on again I will have to go trough the same process.
There is no memory of my settings it always start at 720P.
Any solution?
The 4K NEXTBOX is connected to my AVR that support 4K and then to the 4K TV.

Hello @caddy26
It does support HDMI 2.0. The Rogers HDMI the give u i suppose are HDMI 2.0 but i use the Monster ones so I don't know. Actually when they hooked both 4k boxes they used their HDMI and didn't see a difference

I think ROGERS should pull the plug on 4K and come back when they are ready to offer a product that is working.
again tonight it is not working properly. I wonder if BELL 4K is working better.

We are still in the VERY early days of 4K content being delivered via cable (or fiber-optic). Do you remember the early days of getting HD content via cable?...painful!
Give it some time - it will get better.

I'm starting to get a little annoyed now. I have 5 PVRs that I have purchased and have on my account. I have 2 4K TV and I'm being forced to rent this box at $12.99 a month each. I want to know when I can purchase my 4K PVR because I'm not happy paying $26 a month to rent 2 4K boxes. Bell has 4K PVR already and before I pay $26/month for 2 4K boxes I might as switch and buy the PVRs with Bell. Also the reason I don't have a 3rd 4K TV right now is because I don't want to rent another Rogers 4K non PVR box. If I'm going to spend all this money I might as well spend it on the stuff I want and not be forced to rent a box I don't want. I want a 4K PVR to PURCHASE not rent.

So I got the rogers 4k next box today, and so far so good.. just a few questions for you guys.. it doesn't seem to matter what channel I watch, my tv (when I press info on my LG remote) says my tv is in 4k mode.. (2160p). I watch channel 999 998 997 and go back and forth to channel 22 (1080 is 22 and 900 are my 4k channels) I notice zero difference in picture quality asidea from my 4k box having a blue light on it saying "4k". Is it maybe my hdmi csbke, is the video card in the 4k boxes upscaling everything, or is the tv doing it or am I just not getting true 4k coming into my home. I have the LG 65 INCH UF6540 (model number)

I don't have 4K, so maybe someone who does will chip in on the subject. How far away are you sitting from your 65" TV? I have a Samsung 50" TV and sit about 12 feet from it. At that distance there's not a huge difference between HD and SD and I can't tell the diffrence between 1080i and 720p. Ideally I should be sitting 7-10 feet from the screen to enjoy the full benefit of 1080 resolution. If something appears on the screen, like a note or a text message on a cellphone, I have to pause and get up closer to read it. According to this chart, you need to be 6-7 feet from a 65" screen to see the full benefit of 2160p. Of course a lot depends on the focus, lighting and subject matter of the original content.

Hi,
I am growing tired of switching back and forth from our PVR input to our 4k box input and am debating returning the 4k box until Rogers comes out with an all in one 4k PVR.
Any word on when this is happening? In all honesty, the 4k channel(s) look amazing but the lack of content at this stage isn't worth the $12.95/month for the 4k box IMO.

So it looks like this thread kind of got away from what I posted earlier. BUT I did want to share that I have semi-resolved the issue. If I turn off/on my equipment in this sequence, 4K Box>TV>Receiver, it always starts in 4K. I have a Harmony remote that is programmed this way, and it always seems to work.

if i upgrade from HDnextbox to 4K box, i will get some channels in 4K!, but how about the rest, are they gonna remain in HD?, or its going to downgrade?!

Clarification: In the same way that SD transitioned to HD with eventually almost all channels being available in HD (15 years later), HD may transition to 4K, adding more 4K channels as broadcasters add equipment, etc. So, years from now, there may be many more 4K channels.
However, keep in mind that the SD to HD transition brought huge benefits in picture quality, while the transition from HD to 4K is not nearly as beneficial, depending on the size of your screen and viewing distance.

Hello @57
The user was talking about changing the boxes now and for the channels to change, not in 3-4 years lol. That will happen but the user was asking if Channels would stay or change over.
Note also that the 4K box is not available as a PVR version at this time, so if you want to record shows, the current one is not for you.
