Connecting 3rd party wifi extenders

Anyone have any suggestions or instructions on how to connect 3rd party wifi range extenders to boost my wifi signal? I have a D-Link extender and XB Modem from Rogers. I was connecting fine through XB7 but not sure why it's not working with the XB8....

Rogers wireless internet

Hi everyone, just wanted to say I got the Rogers wireless home internet installed, it replaced my 25 year old bell DSL. I’m getting 27ish down and 5 up. It’s fast and only about 20-40ms of lag on Speedtest. Pretty darn good.
