Known issue: customers on two year term are noticing rate increase anyways?

The price increase is absurd, but to make things worse my plan which is locked until December has now shown rate increase for internet despite the following:

 

Changes to your Home Service Rate: We continually invest in our network to bring you the best connected experience in Canada. To help support these investments, we will be increasing the monthly fee for your internet service by $7 (plus taxes) and your home phone service by $5 (plus taxes) starting on April 1, 2025. Any active discount or guaranteed rate will remain in effect until its end date. If you are on a 2-year ValuePlan, the rate adjustment for your ValuePlan services will not affect the monthly fees for your services until the 2-year ValuePlan's expiration date. Services included as part of your condo maintenance or property rental fees are not impacted. The rest of your services remain the same. If you have any questions, would like to receive an updated copy of your service agreement, or no longer wish to subscribe to your Home services, please reach out to us as indicated in the Contact Us section of this bill.

Okay, but how much did your April or May bills actually increase?

 

All customers receive notifications of these rate increases but per the text that I bolded, your guaranteed rate (for your TV + Internet base bundle) should remain in place until your contract ends.  After that, your discounts will drop off and the price for the TV + Internet base bundle will increase.  For now, the $7 price increase for Internet service should not apply to you.

 

If you are a Home Phone subscriber, that is considered an add-on service.  You can add it at any time or remove it without penalty, and that is NOT covered by the price protection in your term contract.  I would expect your monthly rate to increase by $5 + applicable taxes.
