Only the formerly analogue channels are available with the DTA50 (roughly channels 2-100 and not even all of those). See the following:

As well.. the DTAs, you can can not get 'free' ones, with the pick and pay skinny packages.
They would have to be rented, etc.
At that point may as well pay for a FULL digital box.

Not 100% correct. You can't get any DTAs with the skinny package. You NEED to get one of the SD terminals to have that package, and that's only $5.49/month. Even if you were to get another DTA, they only cost about $3.00/month to rent them now.
