my scientic atlanta hd box is not responding to remote commands. It works quite well when I use manual controls. Any suggestions?

Have you tried to factory reset the remote and try reprogramming it?
The following steps explain how to reset your digital box remote to factory default settings.
The reset will be reset to its factory default settings.
Hope this helps.
1. New Batteries in the remote?
2. Press the CBL button at the top right to ensure it's sending the correct signals.
3. If you have another remote in the house, try it.
4. Are any of the remote commands working - like power, channel changes, etc?
Thank you for your responses.
Just to clarify, I have 2 other hd boxes. All three remotes work on the remaining 2. This causes me to think that the remotes are in good working order. However the box is not receiving any remote commands
Thank you for the clarifications. Since we now know that it's not the remote, it seems you have an issue with the STB. Have you rebooted the box? (unplug/wait a few seconds/replug/wait a few minutes).
Have you called Rogers to check on the status of the box - they can often perform some tests remotely?
What is the model number of the box?
Try un plugging it from the back (the power cord) and plugging it back in. If its in a power bar, try a different port of the power bar, or right into the wall (in case its the power bar that died).
If still nothing, it may be the power supply on the box itself which has gone.
If you are renting, take the box into any rogers store, and they will be able to swap it for a new one.
