Samsung 8series 4kUHD

I just got a new Samsung 8 series 4k TV ...connected to an older 4642HD Nextbox, all seems fine, but i noticed that under 4642 settings, appearance it says this tv can accept up to 1080i... No 1080p.

However my Nextbox 9865 with a smaller LG TV in another room has 1080p checked off in the settings.

My question is should I be using the newer 9865 with the newer 4K TV ??

Thx in advance

Re: Samsung 8series 4kUHD

ps,,,My ? is for the Rogers signal only, is 1080 progressive necessarily better than interlaced, or is Rogers even sending 1080p ?
pss..Everything else 4K UHD HDR with this TV is fantastic!!!

1.  There is nothing broadcast natively in 1080p.

2.  If I'm not mistaken, the 4642 can only handle 1080i, while the 9 series has the ability to upscale to 1080p.

3.  Your BEST option of the UDH tv is to get a 4k receiver.  The next best is the 9 series you already have.
