I'm using the 4-button remote: CHAMPION PLUS URC2125B0-BB
I have the 65" TCL Model: 65S425 TV.
urcsupport.com gives me codes 2434 and 3183
I've tried everything, auto and manual code entry and can't get the remote to control the tv.
the thing is i follow the steps. here: https://www.urcsupport.com/urc_product/champion-plus-urc2125b0-bb/##setup
1. I press the mode button (tv)
2. I press and hold setup until tv blinks twice.
3. I begin to enter the 4 digit code.
But when I do this, it reverts back to cable and tries to change the channel. Even with the box off, the cable button lights up during number entry.
Good evening @clockwork58,
Thank you for your post! Being able to control your TV with your digital terminal remote is key.
Please try the following steps to program your Rogers Champion remote:
Since the Rogers remote control is a universal remote, you can program it for other components by repeating the steps above and substituting the TV button with the respective device button (DVD, Audio, etc.).
Hope this helps!
I've tried this already many times. Both automatic and manual entry following instructions on urcsupport web site.
Hello again, @clockwork58
It's disappointing to see that you were unable to get the remote programmed for your TV using the steps and the codes outlined on the website. =(
The manual scanning option can take some time to find the right code, how long did you attempt this for? While the universal remote is able to control most devices not all devices are supported. If after exhausting the manual code scanning option the remote still cannot control your TV it may not be compatible.
Keep the Community posted on the results!
I attempted several times to do the automatic scan by holding OK button while the tv light flashes quickly as it cycles through codes. Nothing happened.
I also attempted to enter the manual codes from URCsupport web site: 2434 and 3183.
When i try to enter those manual codes, for some reason as soon as i press a number, it reverts back to cable and tries to change the channel.
I had this remote working fine with my previous samsung tv
I bought the TCL 6-Series 55" (55R615-CA) and was concerned that the rogers remote CHAMPION PLUS URC2125B0-BB would not work based on online comments (urcsupport codes did not work) BUT I did the manual search and within a minute of holding OK down, the tv turned off and all was well! There is even a tv setting to power on direct to cable bypassing the ROKU screen. I know, I know, different model but just PSA for other TCL users looking for info.
Finally got this solved today..by accident.
Batteries died in the remote. Took out batteries put new ones in.
The remote began to function more properly with no red light appearing while going through the quick programming steps and now works with the TV.
So all i had to do was just remove batteries. *sigh*
I ran into the same problem. My TCL model is 65S423CA and My Rogers Remote Model is 1056B03. As others have discovered the codes provided by the urcs upport website did not work. I got a list of codes from TCL's US website and went down the list until one worked. Try 1756. Hope this helps.
@liveinyyz : Another option, if the IR code is actually in the 1056 is to utilize the code search/scan functionality built into the remote as discussed in the following post. If there is a code that works, the scan would find it...
I assume that 2434 in the code finder didn't work? These days it's difficult to get some codes because so many TVs are "branded" under different names by certain manufacturers.
I have tried to sync my Atlas 1056B03 remote to my TCL TV using all the methods that are listed. When I tried the 991 and power method my tv eventually turned off but won't power back on. Any thoughts on this?
My tv is TCL 55S423A-CA
