Ive been having similar problems. The number of hours recorded should only be taking up 15% to 20% max, if that but it's showing 97% used. Makes no sense. Is there a problem caused by a recent update?
Occasionally the box will do what's called a "runaway recording". It will keep recording a certain programme for a very long time. Find the (long) recording, delete it and reboot the PVR. What's the model number of the PVR?
