Hi, I just got a Next Box 3 to replace my Shaw Sat. system.
Issue I have, is that the remote receiver spot is seems to be on the left of the next, so it is behind my TV.
On the Shaw it was on the right side so not a problem.
Is there any reason why I could not put the box vertical on its side?

Good evening @OldITGeek ,
Welcome to the Forums & Thank you for your post!
I must say that this is an unusual inquiry but I totally understand that it could be an easy fix for your problem.
First of all, I want to make you fully aware that the NextBox is not intented to be put in a vertical position
If you decide to do so regardless, you need to take a few precautions.
Before you move your digital box, here are a few tips I can give you :
- Start by unplugging the digital terminal and wait until it cools down
- After you unplugged the NextBox for 5 minutes, you can put it in a vertical position
- You need to make sure that there is enough room on either sides of the box to ensure that it does not overheat
- Once it is in it's vertical position, you can plug it back in.
*Please note that we do not recommend that you move it while plugged in.
Hope this helps!
How about an IR Extender?
I'm not seeing a spot to plug this into.
There should be a socket marked "IR" on the back. My 8300 has one and Googling images of the NB3, it looks like it also has one.
As for laying it on its side, it's probably a cooling issue.
