@coopcoop : You should be able to go into Settings, Scroll up one to Troubleshooting and select Restore Factory Settings. It may take a minute or two to start the process and then another 5-10 minutes to reboot. You should then have all your preferences, favourites, scheduled recordings and recorded programming erased.
If that doesn't work, you can contact Rogers and ask them to remotely do a factory reset on your box. Make sure you give them the information for the correct box if you have more than one.

8642 power button will not turn on both manually and using the remote. Had a lightning storm last week and that may have affected the STB.
Tried all the rebooting methods.
The STB reboots fully to the date but the power button and the remote power access fail to light up the "Power on" LED.
Thank you for posting your concern, and welcome to Rogers Community Forums!
I appreciate trying different rebooting methods; if you see the time, then the box is booting up. However, it seems one of the components required to turn on the box is not functioning.
@57 may have more ideas on this topic.
I would think that the 8642 is shot. It's probably not worth fixing. All I can say is to try another couple of reboots. It sounds like you have another box that you can put at that location. Check to make sure you have a good signal - link below.
As a last resort you could call Rogers, have them check the signal and if it's good, then have them send a "Factory Reset" to the 8642. This will delete any recordings and settings on the box.
