Has Any1 Tried To Change Channel Line-Up Online?

I give up with Rogers online web pages, they simply do not work as they should and as far as I recall, never did work properly in either IE6 through 11, Firefox or Chrome - any version.   The loading symbol comes up and that's as far as it ever gets.

Re: Has Any1 Tried To Change Channel Line-Up Online?

I've tried all browsers in  all OS's from XP through 8.1 and even their phone support agrees with me, their web pages are fickle to say the least.    I think in all the years I've only managed to make changes online once.

I'll stick to the phone from now on.

Those of you that have no problems altering your channel lineups online are lucky I guess.

I wont bother with screenshots then if it has to go through all that rigmarole.

I'm a specialist in computer security so my machines are always slap bang up to date so no problems there.

Thanks.

Re: Has Any1 Tried To Change Channel Line-Up Online?

Good evening @pmcsplaza ,

Thank you for your post. Sorry to hear of the issues you have been experiencing with our website.

To verify if it is a browser related problem, please follow these steps :

-Force a full refresh for the site. This can be achieved by pressing CTRL + F5 keys at the same time on your browser (Firefox, Chrome, Explorer, etc.)

-Clear the temporary cache and cookies on your browser to make sure that you have the most recent version of the web page. If you need further assistance on how to do so, please let us know.

Hope this helps, do let us know if this works.

@pmcsplaza

wanted to add my input too.

That’s odd, To be honest I’ve never tried changing my TV channel lineup online, figured I’d try it out after reading your post. I’m using the latest version of Firefox and a windows computer. Logged into myrogers hovered over the my rogers icon > selected product and services > then selected "tv" on the gray bar > clicked add/change channel selection > got a pop up with options > selected online > took a to a page where i pick selections on the first shot. tried a couple times and i didn’t have any issues... also never tried to fully complete the transaction..Are you accessing it the same way or different way?.. Maybe something with the browser cache?

Community anyone else ever had this issue? Tips please :smileyhappy:

What exactly are you looking at? I use Firefox and I always thought most web pages were designed to favour IE.

To see your guide or manage your recordings on the My Rogers TV page you need to disable your popup blocker. What else are you looking at?

Re: Has Any1 Tried To Change Channel Line-Up Online?

Thank you all for your replies and sorry I didn't get right back but never received any notifications that you had posted.

I've disabled FF35's popup blocker and cleared cookies and still get an endlessly loading box which grays out the page.

I was going to post a screenshot but see that it's not permitted here.

This is after I've got as far as the change my line-up button and selected Online.

@pmcsplaza You should be getting notifications to your email unless you turned off the setting, maybe your email spam filter is junking them. Also you can upload images, they just have to go through the approval process to make sure they are forum friendly before it goes public(the mods take care of this). And ya that's odd not sure why it’s not working for you? what browser? ever tried a different computer?

Re: Has Any1 Tried To Change Channel Line-Up Online?

I think I know what you were trying to do. With Firefox, when I go to my TV page, the fifth item down is "Add/Change Channel Selection". When I click on that I get a popup (remember, you have to disable your blocker) that says:

"Changing Your TV Channels?
To change your channel selections:
Online
Live Chat
Monday to Friday 7 am – midnight EST
Weekends 8 am – midnight EST
Call 1-855-720-9037"

When I click "Online" I get a page that starts with my name and account number at the top, then:

"Digital VIP Cable Change
Extra Channels / Theme Packs Change
Digital Box(es) Change
PVR Digital Terminal Purchased
HD PVR Digital Terminal Purcha
1
Add or Change your selections:
Choose additional Channels & Theme Packs not included as part of your package"

Below is a box where I can choose View Genre.

Choosing "News" I see some channels and theme packs. One of them is BBC World News for $2.79. What???!!!! I used to have BBC World News as part of my VIP and then Rogers took it away. Now they want to sell it back to me for $2.79? No thanks!

Frankly, changing your channel line up is a very expensive deal. I wouldn't do it unless there was something you absolutely could not live without and were prepared to pay a substantial amount more per month.

I see that info in the background but the "Loading" box never loads.   Maybe it's because I have 320 channels...?  I doubt it but I'll take any suggestions LOL.   Sorry I don't have the patience to sit there for hours in the hope it finally loads.

Regarding BBC World News, you should still get it in SD on Ch:194 but I think that extra is for the HD version perhaps?  You'd have to ask Rogers by phone I guess.   I know it's broadcast in HD because PBS carries it early evening for an hour or so.

It's also available from your TV in MoreTV in Settings, bundled with a few other news channels.
