What STB model are you using? Is it happening on other boxes too? Do you remember when this issue first began?

I don't normally watch A&E HD (Ch31 in Toronto), however, I just checked and the audio signal is "only" DD2.0. The adjacent channels like TSN, etc are DD5.1. I'm on Legacy Digital Cable with a 9865 PVR.
I scanned about 50 channels and found the following channels were also DD2.0, however, I don't believe there is anything extraordinary about that. Channels 13, 19, 20, 23, 24, 25, 35, 38, 57.
HDA&E went into 2 channel mode about 2 weeks ago. Still only 2.0 this morning...but that is better than the 1 channel mode the Golf Channel was in recently.
I am not a big fan of the "binge-mode" some channels have been trying lately....where they show the same program all day. I suppose it is designed to lure customers from NetFlix etc.
