As meowmix said.. you need to specificaly program it with the remote. Currently you are changing the chanel on the digital adapter, as well as the sound on it (which is what it should do).

That link should have the setup instructions, as well as a lookup for specific codes if available.
In the end, its a universal remote.. its aims to try and work with any TV.. but there are times/models, which sometimes it just wont work, and you may have to use the two remotes 😞

I cannot find the code to program the digital adapter converter. The tv I own Electron is not listed for a code in the book and I have tried all the ways possible and no luck. Any suggestions other than buying a new tv?

I'm not rally sure what you are looking for but, the second link you posted gives the codes when you type in the make and model.
If the codes that are showing don't work, try clicking on show me more link or try this link (2nd page).

I have a small SEIKI TV from Walmart and after I couldn't get satisfactory results using the Rogers instructions on the sheet provided, I tried the instructions that came with the remote and also the URC website http://www.urcsupport.com/html.php?page_id=736 However, I fared no better. I called Rogers, who told me the TV wasn't supported. The tech also told me how to reset the remote to factory state (I think it was hold the SET button for 3 seconds) but I couldn't even get the original instructions to work. I was told to return the remote and Rogers gave me a new one, no questions asked. I managed to set that one up using the Rogers instructions to where only the power button doesn't work. I have to use 2 remotes, but need the TV remote to change the picture shape anyway. If you've lost the Rogers instructions, here they are.

I'm hoping someone can help me with this problem. We recently had two digital adapters sent from Rogers. We set up the one in the living room and it works perfectly. The one we set up in the bedroom is having a small problem but for the life of me I can't figure it out. The digital adapter is online and authorized and the light is solid green. I have programmed the remote control to work with the Phillips TV. The remote is controlling the volume, the changing of channels and is able to turn the TV off. The remote will not turn the TV on. I have tried everything I can think of and I cannot get the Rogers remote control to turn the TV on.
Any ideas, suggestions would really be appreciated. It's not a big deal to turn the tv on manually but it kind of nags at me that I can't figure out how to fix it.

How did you program it initially? Via the manual method? Or with a code?
http://www.urcsupport.com/html.php?page_id=736
If manual.. try via that site one of the remote codes for your specific model if there is one, or the generic for that brand.
See if those work to turn it off.
If not.. it MAY not 100% work 😞 That sometimes happens with some TVs.. my old CRT was similar, with the full bown rogers remote... did ALL functions, including input control, etc... except power wouldnt work 😞
While they are universal.. they can only be so much... no universal remote usually ever will cover 100% of the TVs (other than a PC programmable one like the logitech ones)

I programmed it initially by code and I got the two short blinks that means the code should work. But I got those same blinks for every code for a Phillips tv. Then I tried the manual method. I guess it's just some kind of glitch with that tv because the one in the living room is working perfectly...turning on and off. It's a different brand name.
Thank you for your help.
