Anyplace tv with bell phone

After a 45 min wait a tech informed me I was required to have a Rogers smart phone to use Anyplace tv home mobile App...I am currently with Bell using a Galaxy S2, which seems compatible. I am a Home monitoring customer and can access that app just fine. If the tech is correct, why was i unable to find this information?

Re: Anyplace tv with bell phone

It may PARTIALLY work.

the app, will install i beleive.. and you may have access to the BASIC stuff available on there..

But some of the stuff on there, which has to check your 'subscriptions', as to what stuff you do have or not... require you to 'authenticate' on the rogers wireless network.

Most of their apps have moved away from this now.. but some do still use/require it Smiley Sad

Re: Anyplace tv with bell phone

Are you talking about the HOME EDITION or the Rogers on demand type one?

The ON DEMAND one for watching TV, yes, will follow what i said above.

The HOME EDITION should work regardless.. doesnt follow the wireless network, as far as i know or have experienced.
But it only allows cheduling etc, of stuff on the PVR.

Re: Anyplace tv with bell phone

You might be OK with the home edition app.

i have never been promted on mine, to be on the rogers network.
(the other app, will tell you to turn off your wifi, and be on cellular only, to authenticate, then can turn wifi back on).

No harm in downloading and trying.

Home edition seems to be tablet only.... was worth a try.
Thank you again for the help and effort.

Re: Anyplace tv with bell phone

No there should be one for phones as well.

Well, there is for iphone at least.

The difference with the tablet.. is the tablet one, allows some 'live' tv watching as well.
