I got it to go up to 1080i now. Any way to get 1080p?, upconvert changes HD channels to 720p and SD channels to 480p. There is no way to get into 1080 at all without uding fixed, and even then i can not get 1080p. This box does support 1080p, so why cant i get it to display that?
Pauly is correct. In fact there is no over the air television content broadcast in 1080p in Canada or the U.S. For 1080p you will need a blu-ray player or a DVD player that will up-convert to 1080p. Both Xbox 360 and Sony PS3 also have 1080p capability.
The Rogers booklet that comes with the Cisco Explorer 4642 HD says to press the GUIDE and INFO button simultaneously on the front of the box to get an HD setup wizard. This did not work on my box and I wouldn't be surprised if it did not work for tdunks either.
If I understand correctly, your box is stuck displaying 480p even on HD channels. This happened to me once when I was fooling around with the settings. You can undo it with the following steps:
1. Press GUIDE twice.
2. Scroll to SET: PICTURE FORMAT
3. Select AUTO DVI/HDMI
4. Exit the settings menu and change to an HD channel.
5. Repeat steps 1 and 2.
6. Select FIXED.
If that doesn't work, try cycling through the aspect formats using the # button on the remote. The button has an ASPECT label above it.
Aw. I didn't see the second post. Disregard my post.:/
