discount offer scam

jamiecpringle
I've been around

Here's the SCAM, they accessed my account with my email address,

offered to send me Air pods,

ordered a phone I did not request and charged my account.

They called me to say the ordered phone was an accident,

they emailed me saying the order was cancelled.

The order was  in fact not cancelled but would have been charged to me .delivered to them

By this time an actual ROGERS rep has reached out to me to tell me what they had done

no prejudice,  their whole team was Indian and very professional marketers.

I got a call from someone identifying themselves as a Rogers representative offering me a $30 discount. Sounded good to me. I have received offers from Rogers before but then they passed me along to another rep. who passed me along to another rep. all the while asking me to give them a confirmation numbers they sent to me in emails over the course of an hour.

Thanks to Rogers for catching on to them

I'm glad to hear it was caught and the potential fraud was averted.

When you receive the Two Factor Email with the confirmation number, it says on this email not to give the number to anyone, not even rogers employees.  I hope that by reinforcing this message, more people will be saved from potential fraud.
