Received a call from Rogers, real or fake?

Mbadeji
I've been around

Good afternoon All,

I received a call just now from +1204 294 6622 and +1 844 776 4377, supposedly from a member of the Rogers mobility team. I was told of a discount and was asked to provide some confirmation codes from Rogers for the guy to access my Account and make some changes to my account to effect the 20% discount. I was further told that I will get an agreement documents via email and post. However, I could not access MyRogers account since I received the call and provided the confirmation codes.

Please, can anyone confirm if those above numbers are real and not fake?

This call was a well known scam to get you to provide a code that should not be shared.  The email containing "confirmation code" probably stated something like "do not provide this code to anyone" or something similar. I suggest you call Rogers quickly to preclude further damage.

Hello, @Mbadeji.

We appreciate you joining our Community and inquiring about the calls you received. As @57 commented, the call was not from Rogers. It is important to note that Rogers will never ask for confirmation codes over the phone to access your account and make changes on your behalf. Providing these codes would give an unauthorized party access to your sensitive account information.

Have you reported it to Rogers as suggested?

Feel free to send CommunityHelps a private message so we can look into your MyRogers access. We provided more information about our private messaging in this blog

Regards,

RogersMoin
