Hi,
I have been receiving emails with the Rogers "letterhead" warning that I should migrate to Rogers Webmail as the relationship between Rogers and Yahoo is ending. I called Rogers support and they told me it's a scam and to ignore the email. The emails ask for a verification of status to migrate me over. Has anyone else received anything like this?
The emails look very official and very similar to what I would get from Rogers.
Thanks

@aap1 Scammers are getting more and more sophisticated each day, and it is trivial to make a very official-looking email message that appears to come from Rogers. You are not the first to receive such a message, and the Moderators here have already tagged your message with Phishing and Scam labels, so consider that official confirmation that the email that you received is bogus. The scammers are trying to gain control of your email account, and then work toward getting access to your other online services via password resets that get sent to that email address.

If you do a search of this forum for Yahoo email verification, or similar terms you will find numerous threads/posts on the topic. This is a scam as mentioned above. Here's a previous sample.

I received this email today as well. Almost had me until they asked for my credit card info. Stopped the process and logged into My Rogers actual account to update to a new password. They did get my mailing address and mother's maiden name though.

Hello @peddyman ,
Thanks for chiming in on the conversation. 🙂
We're glad to hear that you realized it was a scam before continuing on! You did the right thing by updating your MyRogers password. 👍
If you'd like to report the incident, please have a look here.

Just received scam about Rogers/Yahoo breakup. What identified it to me as a scam was that the return address on the mail, said "Rogers Customer Service", but when I opened the email the reply to was very obviously not a rogers domain.
