Let's say I delete a recording - A movie, an episode of a TV show, etc. - It's now in the deleted list. How long will it stay there before it deletes itself? 7 days? 2 weeks? 1 month? Forever?

Hi, sorry - What I mean is strictly a recording that has already been recorded. Like let's say I've got the final episode of "The Pitt" and I've already watched it, and then I delete it. How long will it be in the "Deleted" folder before it deletes itself entirely and is gone forever?
Ah, okay. It varies. I have seen deleted recordings get cleaned out after only a few hours (and once it disappeared almost immediately) and have also seen recordings remain in the deleted folder for days. I have also deleted recordings that are almost a year old, and even they can stick around for days past their 1-year lifetime.
It's possible that deleted recordings get cleaned out faster when your personal PVR space is close to full but this is not absolutely the case. (My PVR space is usually almost always 99% full.)

I tested this once; setting a recording, as far ahead in the future as I could get in the Guide, and then deleting it from the scheduled recordings. The deleted recording remained marked in the Guide and in Scheduled recordings until the program aired.

As far as I know, the X1 platform can also potentially collect a lot of interaction event data, right down to individual button presses on the remote. I don't know what data Rogers chooses to collect, who has access to it or how long they retain that information for. At the very least, they collect and retain viewership data for what we watch on the platform, live and on-demand, and can (and do) perform analytics on those data sets.
Comcast can also tie this data with their advertising platform to measure audience engagement and for their own research. I don't know what information they retain or how long they retain it for.

I believe it's only a couple of days. I just looked at my list on the Web and the oldest recording was deleted on April 14, nothing from before that:

Strange, I've never seen that sort of behavior. I don't go into my deleted list often - probably a couple of times per month, but my deleted recordings shown there are always from the last couple of days (as indicated in my previous post) and I've never had one deleted instantly. I run about 40-50% full most times..
