On September 20, 2019, P3 recognized Rogers as the "Best in Test" wireless operator in Canada. We are proud to share with you that Rogers is the overall winner with strong results in both Voice and Data. This was determined after analyzing Canada’s mobile networks with a focus on the day-to-day experience of customers.
What were the results?
Rogers scored 857 out of a maximum of 1,000 points, leading in both Voice and Data categories over the competition. Bell followed with 837 total points and Telus was third with 826 total points. Freedom came in last with 416 total points.
Why is this test different from other network awards?
P3 is the global leader in mobile network benchmarking. It tests more than 200 networks in 120 countries around the world. Their unique methodology measures the customer experience on a network using consumer popular applications, such as YouTube, Instagram, or Spotify. Other network tests usually use custom field-test software to measure peak speed.
On September 26, PC Mag published their “Fastest Mobile Networks Canada 2019” report, with Telus awarded fastest mobile network. Results for Rogers were also very good. They confirm that Rogers is delivering what our customers need and what current devices can utilize.
The following table lists some of the key differences between PC Mag and P3’s testing methods:
Measures overall smartphone voice and data performance based on extensive drive-tests – from major metropolitan areas to smaller cities, roads and railway.
Focuses primarily on data speed.
Tests as a customer uses our service, while moving.
This includes over 6,000 kms of driving across Canada to conduct the tests.

HOW TO PRE-ORDER?
New and existing customers eager to get their hands on the iPhone 11, iPhone 11 Pro and iPhone 11 Pro Max canpre-orderit through rogers.com. They can pick ship-to-home and get it faster, or pick up in-store.
You must complete the pre-order through rogers.com:
Benefits of ship-to-home vs ship-to-store:
Ship-to-home:get the device faster and track it online. The ship-to-home option is not available for the Apple Watch and iPad 7th generation.
Ship-to-store:you’ll get a call from the store when it arrives. You’ll have 3 days to pick it up.
If you choose ship-to-store, a reservation fee of $40 (plus applicable taxes) will be applied for each reservation – it’s 100% refundable.
For existing customers, check if you’re on a Share Everything plan. If yes, you’ll need to switch to an in-market Rogers Infinite plan. You can do it online, or reach out to a representative so we can help you change it right away.
AFFORDABILITY AND FLEXIBILITY - A WIN-WIN COMBINATION!
Rogers announced that for the first time ever on a national network, customers will be able to get the latest iPhone at launch for just $0 down and now pay no taxes upfront. We'll share pricing details on the pre-order date.
How It's Calculated
Best value:lowest total cost over 24 months. You can either return the device at the end of your term, or keep it and pay the Upfront Edge amount. The choice is yours!
Upfront device cost = price of the device on an Edge Tab minus Upfront Edge amount. If you keep the device, you must pay back the Upfront Edge amount at the end of your term.
Get the latest device for $0 down - 0% interest and pay no taxes upfront. Pay off the device in 24 equal payments.
Upfront device cost varies. Remainder of device cost is included in the plan’s monthly service fee (MSF). Name of Edge Tab indicates how much of the MSF goes toward the device each month (e.g. Edge 40 = $40/mo.)
Not sure what to do with your existing phone?
Why not give it to a family member. Add a line to your Rogers Infinite plan and share unlimited data (starting at 10GB of max speed data, reduced speeds thereafter) with the whole family. With ouradditional line offers, more lines mean more savings!
You can also benefit from theRogers Trade-Up Program. You can trade-in your eligible device for a credit towards their new device. We’ve now made it easier for customers to do that by offering the Rogers Trade-up program in-store, online and through Telesales.
APPLE WATCH SERIES 5
Customers who want to stay connected with just their watch can upgrade their current Apple Watch or buy one for the first time with our affordable Smartwatch plans.
You will be able to reserve the Apple Watch Series 5 on September 11 and it’ll officially launch on September 20. Plus, you get thefirst 3 monthsof your smartwatch plan on us!
You can find the Apple Watch in the Phones section on rogers.com. When reserving the device on rogers.com, you will only have the ship-to-store option. If you’re interested in both the iPhone 11 series and Apple Watch series 5, you’ll have to process 2 separate orders.
From iPhones, Smartwatch to mobile plans, we have what you need to make more possible on Canada’s most trusted network (based on total wireless subscribers). Let us know if you need help to find the right Rogers Infinite plan type to get unlimited data and no overage charges!
In the past, Rogers Trade-Up was available in stores only. Good news! Rogers once again makes more possible by allowing you to trade in your device via more channels.
Since September 5, 2019, you can do so by calling customer care at 1 (888) 764-3771 or by visiting our trade-up website. If you call or visit our website, a package will be sent to you that contains shipping instructions and a label so you can mail your device to us at no cost.
HOW DOES IT WORK?
You can get a quote for the value of your device and complete the trade yourself by visiting online.rogerstrade.com. Your quote will be valid for 30 days.
Once you got a quote and if you accept, we send you a prepaid shipping kit to send us the device. You could also choose to begin the process online and complete it in store or with an agent.
Recent models with a functioning, non-cracked screen (dark spots or blemishes free) get the best trade-in value.
Don't forget that you are responsible for deleting or saving all of your personal information and data files that may be on your device. As part of the inspection process, your device will be data cleared.
The option to benefit from the Trade-Up program at participating Rogers stores remains available!
TRADE IN AND SAVE!
We currently have an ongoing minimum $100 Rogers Trade-Up offer for 2-year agreements on hardware upgrades and new activations. This means that if the quote you get is less than $100, you’ll get the $100 minimum towards the purchase of your new phone.
Simply trade in your eligible old phone, and get up to $500 towards a new one when you upgrade to or activate a new smartphone on a 2-yearRogers Infiniteplan. This offer is available in-store only!
As you may recall, the MLB awarded exclusive broadcast rights of 13 regular season games from across the Major Leagues to YouTube.
For the second time this season, the Toronto Blue Jays game won’t be available on TV. The Blue Jays and Tampa Bay Rays will be featured as this week’s “MLB Game of the Week” on Thursday, September 5, broadcast exclusively on YouTube.
Those 13 games will not be available on television or through any other streaming service in Canada or the US. Usual television rights-holder Sportsnet will only be allowed broadcast the radio side of the game. A reminder that Sportsnet is not able to broadcast this on television or stream through Sportsnet NOW or Rogers Anyplace TV.
While this YouTube-only game may be a minor inconvenience for some, the game is free wherever you can access YouTube and no account sign-up is required. You just need access to YouTube or the YouTube app.
