Hey Community,

Starting May 23, business customers can now activate an Apple Watch on their account. All business customers, (from Small Business to Enterprise), will no longer need to migrate to a Consumer account in order to use the Apple Watch.

You must have WiFi/VoLTE Calling added to your line in order to be eligible for Apple Watch. You can enable, activate and pair your Apple Watch using self-serve.

Activating an Apple Watch on a CTN via Self-Serve requires that you:

  2. Pair and Activate the Apple Watch through the iPhone application.

  • Capture beautiful portraits that focus on your subject as the background fades into a blur.
  • Save all your photos and videos with unlimited online storage in high quality with Google Photos.
  • Motion Auto Focus will make sure the people and pets in your shot stay sharp as you snap away.
  • Let the Google Assistant help screen your calls, so you know who’s calling and why before you pick up.
  • Work, play, stream and get more done with a powerful battery that charges quickly and lasts all day.
  • Keep your phone protected against the latest threats and performing at its best.
  • Dual SIM Single Active allows you to have two phone numbers on a single phone. Only one line is active at a time.

What is ‘Dual SIM Single Active’ (DSSA)?

  • 'Dual SIM Single Active’ allows you to have two phone numbers on a single phone. However, only one line is active at a time. You must select which line you want active; the other line will not have access to the network.
  • This function is currently available on the Google Pixel 3a and Pixel 3a XL.
  • This limited Dual SIM functionality is because Google does not allow for Dual SIM Dual Standby at this time.

Can I activate my Pixel 3a or Pixel 3a XL with eSIM on a contract?

  • Unfortunately, no, at this time eSIM is only available for / Bring Your Own Device plan activations.
  • If you wish to have a contract to lower the upfront cost of the device, you must activate or upgrade with a physical SIM card.

Are both lines connected to the network at the same time?

  • No, only one line is connected to the network at a time. In order for you to use line 2, you must make the switch through the settings.
  • Once you switch to line 2, line 1 will not have access to the network.

Can I activate an eSIM Card at a store?

  • Yes! However, only select Rogers stores are supporting eSIM Cards. Let me take a look which supporting store is closest to you.

Hey Community,

Wireless service providers like Rogers will be conducting a public alerting test on May 8. The test will occur across most provinces and territories and will be staggered throughout the day. All compatible mobile devices connected to an LTE network in the targeted provinces and territories will receive the test alert.

Rogers will distribute emergency alerts we get from alerting authorities directly to compatible wireless devices connected to LTE networks. So, for example, if there's a life-threatening event (e.g., weather, fire, emergency situation), customers in the affected area would get an alert from Alert Ready.

For the test on May 8, the alert message will not require you to take any further steps. Make sure to let friends and family who might not know about the test that it will be happening.

These public alerting tests are an opportunity for Canadians to become familiar with how public alert messages will be delivered to their mobile devices, including the tone and vibration cadence that will distinguish them from regular text messages.

There are many factors that will determine whether you will receive emergency alerts on your compatible device, including being connected to an LTE network and running the latest software. Visit the Alert Ready article to learn more or visit www.alertready.ca/.
