Starting today, we’re making changes to the CODA Gigabit WiFi modem availability to offer more inventory flexibility and customer choice. You can use the CODA-4582/U  with Ignite Internet 150u for $10/month or with lower in-market tiers for $14/month. There is no change to the default modems for $10/month we advertise with our internet packages.

 

For wireless connectivity at home, newer devices will be able to access 802.11ac WiFi, also known as “AC” WiFi, which is offered by Rogers top modems ― the fastest WiFi technology.

Rogers announced improved wireless service around the Schomberg Village area along Hwy 27 in King Township.

 

With this network investment, Rogers and Fido customers will be able to connect to more of the things they love, whether that means streaming their favourite TV shows, downloading work documents, posting on social media or even just chatting with friends. This announcement is one of several recent Rogers wireless investments in Ontario including Brampton, Port Dover, Sarnia, Cambridge and Ottawa.

 

Rogers also announced that it is improving wireless service in eight locations in Manitoba including: South Transcona, Linden Woods, Beliveau, Provencher Blvd, King Edward St. and Powell Ave all located in Winnipeg, as well as Falcon Lake Town, Woodridge and Neepawa. Rogers and Fido customers in these areas will have a faster, more reliable and consistent wireless experience than ever before.

 

“Our customers want high quality wireless access wherever they are, whether it’s working on the go, heading to the beach at Falcon Lake, golfing within Transcona or staying connected in Neepawa,” said Larry Goerzen, President, Alberta and Prairies Region at Rogers Communications.

 

This enhancements in Manitoba are in addition to enhanced service in Sage Creek.

Rogers is currently working on a multi-year program to bring 5G to Canadians. Recently, Rogers announced plans to launch a national LTE-M network to enable the next era of IoT solutions in Canada, as well as a 5G research partnership with University of British Columbia, and a national infrastructure agreement with Ericsson. Earlier this year Rogers completed live 5G testing at Rogers Centre and is currently testing 5G global standards. Rogers continues to upgrade its 4.5G network with the latest 5G-ready technology to be ready for 5G commercial deployment.

As of January 30, 2019, our customers can no longer have their Spotify Premium or Texture subscriptions billed on their wireless bill. If that applies to you, you will not be charged for Spotify Premium or Texture after your next bill cycle date (after January 30, 2019). To continue using the same subscription, you must sign up with Spotify or Texture directly.

 

These are the most frequently asked questions about these removals:

 

Why are you making this change?

Spotify: The agreement between us and Spotify to provide this service has ended.

Texture: Apple has bought texture and Rogers no longer owns this service.

 

Do I need to do anything to continue my subscription?

Spotify: To continue your Premium subscription, go to www.spotify.com/account/subscription  after your bill cycle date after January 30, 2019 to update your payment information. Your subscription will be automatically moved to the free service as of your next bill cycle date (after January 30, 2019) if no action is taken.  Your billing cycle info is available online on rogers.com/myrogers.

Texture: When your access ends, you will be prompted and directed to sign up for a subscription. You can contact Texture by visiting https://www.texture.ca/en/about-us/contact-us/.

  • iOS: you can sign-up through your iTunes account.
  • Android: you will be directed to the Texture website to login and update your payment information.

 

Am I able to cancel my subscription before January 30, 2019? If so, how?

Yes, you can cancel your subscription at anytime before January 30, 2019 by accessing your MyRogers account on rogers.com. You will still be able to enjoy your subscription until the end of your bill cycle date. At that point your subscription will be converted to the free version.

 

Once you’ve terminated my subscription, will I lose my playlist (Spotify) and/or reading list (Texture)?

No. Your existing playlist and reading list will not be impacted. They are associated to your account.
