The Power Saver feature on Ignite TVTM helps you save money on electricity by making sure your Ignite Entertainment Boxes are powered down when they’re not in use. But how does it work, you ask?

The Power Saver feature automatically shuts off your Ignite Entertainment Box after it has been inactive for a set amount of time.

The Power Saver feature is on by default on all Ignite Entertainment Boxes and set to 4 hours, but here is how you can change the settings:

  1. Press the Rogers button on your Ignite Voice Remote.
  2. Select Settings (the gear icon).
  3. Select Device Settings.
  4. Select Power Preferences.
  5. Update your settings from there.

Please note: If you are recording a program and the Power Saver function turns on, it will not affect the recording. The Cloud PVR will continue to record even if your Ignite Entertainment Box is powered down.

I've been here awhile

Hi,

is there a setting to change the 4 hours?  4 hours is way too long.  It would be nice to change it.

It would also be nice if ignite tv boxes would power down when you press the power button on the remote.  I don’t understand the reason why every ignite tv boxes require to stay powered on (4 hours or all the time) after the tv are powered off.

Good morning @lacadien72,

Welcome to the Community!

At this time there is no way to modify the duration. Thank you for your feedback, we will definitely forward it to the team in charge :).

I hooked a Watt meter to my STB and it draws 4 Watts, on or off.  I revisited the Power Saver option in the STB and it states you can save up to 1.53 kWh/year.  This is equivalent to less than 0.2 Watts draw difference, which is probably how much that white LED uses.

Wow!  I'm all for saving power but I'm not sure what I'm going to do with that 20 cents each year. 😉
