How to remove Data Add-on? (PayAsYouGo)

HowardL
I plan to stick around

Hi there,

Since Rogers has stopped online functions such as top up, view history, I cannot change / remove the PayAsYouGo Data plan as well.

I am currently outside US/Canada, and called 1-800-575-9090, then:

Main menu (voice) > press 3 > press 2 > enter PIN > press 2 > press 1, then there are 2 options:

1. add/modify data plan: this is just change to other data plan

2. listen to the current plan

There is no option to Remove the data plan.

Could you please help to advise how I can remove my data plan by any method?

Thanks.

Yes, go through the menu items until you get the option to talk to a person.  That person will be able to assist you with anything you want.  Follow the instructions carefully.

I have always found the PAYGo reps to be very helpful and there usually is not a long wait for a person. Note the times they are available.

Thank you. Just Done.

As replied in your another post, it's not toll free, ($2 was deducted, I don't know why this number, maybe there is latency on deduct? I will check balance later to confirm and re-post here), which was able to be done online without fee.

@HowardL Did you make the call on your cell?  If so, you will be charged "time" for that call and probably at the rate for whatever country you're in.  Did you try *611, because that shouldn't cost anything from your cell if the call goes through.  Also, not all 1-800 calls are toll free depending on the country you're in.  See:

Yes, I make the call on my cell...is there any other way?😳

I tried *611, it does not work, after dialing, there is robot voice said non-English, and not for top-up, it's said something like: Hi, this is virtual assistant of the number you are dialing.

The 1-800 is toll free in my current staying country, that's why I feel strange why it cost $2...

if it's not toll free, it should cost a lot more than that, if it is, why $2 deducted.

So, I assume it's latency on deduct, I will check balance later again and reply here.

Thanks again Mr./Miss 57.

1. Yes, landline.

2. If you are billed for minutes on your cell phone for local calls, then you will be billed for the time you use your phone. It's the same for voicemail. Any time you spend making calls on your cell phone will be billed at the rate you normally pay.  Perhaps that's why you're seeing the $2.  Even if you made the (toll free) call in Canada, you would be billed for the minutes you use depending on your particular plan.  I'm not sure what plan you're on.  *611 doesn't incur these sorts of time charges, that's why I asked if you tried. Too bad it didn't work, but $2 is not too bad to be able to make your changes.

Of course Roaming charges would be different depending on the country you're in.  Put the country in the following link.
