Lets check... wait for the Edit ;D

Edit - Updated:

@GreyFox

Nokia Lumia 1520 RM937 Network Details:

2G: Quad-band GSM/EDGE (850/900/1800/1900 MHz)
3G: Quadband HSPA+ 1, 2, 5/6, 8 (850/900/1900/2100 MHz)
4G: Pentaband LTE 1, 3, 7, 8, 20 (800/900/1800/2100/2600 MHz)

Rogers Network Band:

GSM, UMTS, HSPA and HSPA+ at 850 MHz and 1900 MHz,
LTE technology at 2100/2600 MHz AWS

So looking at them and comparing, I would say your phone will definiately work, as long as the international phone is unlocked (carrier-free) and the settings are setup correctly (APN settings, which are ususally automatic these days). I don't see an issue.

Fine Print: Keep in mind, No carrier garuntees International Phone working on their network (especially carriers in North America) because the amount of power and frequency flux used in international towers are different than regulations permitted in canada and usa. (usa is stronger, but they don't worry about radiation as much... i guess? lol)

In other words, you may just not get the FULL SPEED of LTE MAX, but will the phone world?

Simply. Yes.

Hope this helped! 🙂

Mark as Solution if you are satisfied!

Excellent thanks for confirming. I've picked up the phone and noticed that the highest the network indicator will lock up in Winnipeg is "ROGERS H+". Both my internet and MMS settings list "ltemobile.apn" currently too. Is there anything you could suggest that could put me on the right track for an LTE connection?

Re: Nokia Lumia 1520 RM-937 Compatibility

If your regional connection is at H+ then LTE won't factor in at all.

if the APN is correct (which it is) then there is nothing more you can do.

Btw, AWESOME Phone choice. O__O that 1520 International Version is calling my name... while I was researching for you, my jaw was dropped and I was in awe... It also has wireless charging built in?! WOW!

So I am tiny bit jealous 😛 hehe

Just to clarify are you saying H+ is just as good as or better than LTE?

And thanks it's a wonderful phone so far! Cost a pretty penny but it's the fatest and smoothest experience I've ever had with a mobile device.

Re: Nokia Lumia 1520 RM-937 Compatibility

I think H+ Essentially came right before LTE. So its 'almost' at par (almost, but not same).
Unless you are playing online gaming on the phone or uploading/downloading massive files and speed is a very very big issue... you won't notice it. Social media would be the same as usual. H+ (HSPA+ is much faster than HSPA itself) is sufficient for most data users. Streaming would be 2 sec more delay for 10 min videos.

It is not a major issue. but Network settings and device capability supports LTE.

But as a disclaimer, all carriers always say "the service is not garunteed on unlocked phones" because for some technical reasons (even I don't know about) can cause issues for speeds.

Is it the area you are in? Winnipeg doesn't have issues with LTE as far as I know (I drive through there during summers when i am visiting my Sister in Regina)

Yes I'm in Winnipeg and I sit beside a fellow at work who gets LTE on his Android device that's on Rogers.

Re: Nokia Lumia 1520 RM-937 Compatibility

And you phone says H+ only right?
WAIT. I just had a 'light bulb' moment.
I think International version say H+ instead of LTE ...

I'll quickly research this, I think its the same... not 100% sure. I'll check...

Re: Nokia Lumia 1520 RM-937 Compatibility

Hey ShakTib,

Actually, H+ stands for HSPA+ as a standard across the industry, no matter where the phone is from. It would say LTE (another industry standard term) if it connected to the LTE level of the network.

If the phone isn't connecting to LTE in an LTE area, I'd try first to insert the SIM into a Rogers branded phone. If it works fine, and the proper APN is programmed into the non-Rogers device, then I'm sorry to say, there's very little we can do about it. The problem could stem from the OS version or the transciever not connecting to our LTE frequency.

I've got "ltemobile.apn" in my connection settings so I'll give the SIM swap a try.

Re: Nokia Lumia 1520 RM-937 Compatibility

Thanks @RogersAdam1 for the tip.
So HSPA+ is one step down from LTE. there is no question about that.

I was actually thinking exactly that, if the International Version is not LTE compatible maybe? I doubt it though.

Re: Nokia Lumia 1520 RM-937 Compatibility

It's possible that it just doesn't work with our LTE. Not plugging, but the technical reality is that a telco-branded device would have gone through testing to ensure it works on that telco's network. All else is caveat emptor.

Re: Nokia Lumia 1520 RM-937 Compatibility

Very much so. Agreed.

I've Been Here Awhile

Users of Nokia Lumia 1520 can either install the latest update through the Push Notification or go to Settings -> Phone update -> Check for Update to manually download it. Then go to Settings -> Mobile + SIM to enable 4G.
