I have a Xiaomi Mi5 with a LTE compatible band (Band 7) but I am only getting 3g/ HSPA (I did setup the Rogers APN)
Is there good Band 7 coverage in Calgary? Thanks!
I just received my Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 this week and am still playing with it.
The HSPA (H+) is the 4G network. So if you are seeing this it means that you are on the 4G band 7.
If you keep bouncing between bands, go into your sim card in the settings, and manually select mobile network, instead of having the phone select what is preferred. If you set it to Rogers 4G you will stick there, unless you are on wifi.
I would like to know if europe/asia model is supported by rogers network.I see only LTE band 7 being supported. Is that sufficient?
I recently purchased an Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 Pro phone, it covers all the bands that rogers uses in my area, I believe.
2G: GSM B2/B3/B5/B8, CDMA 1X BC0
3G: WCDMA B1/B2/B4/B5/B8, CDMA 2000 BC0, TD-SCDMA B34/B39
4G: FDD-LTE B1/B3/B4/B5/B7/B8, TD-LTE B38/B39/B40/B41 ( 255-2655MHz )
I can connect with the phone on LTE, HSPA+ with no problem, if available. Sometimes, if I am in certain area's, the signal indicator drops to 3G .... it shows a decent signal, but no calls or data can go through.
On the following chart, the first WCDMA connection,my phone only indicates 3G and I can not make a call or use data. When my call attempt is done, it goes back to LTE. Then for the second WCDMA connection on the chart, I am connected as H+, I can make a call and use data. Whenever this phone connects to CID 31072 the problem happens. When I connect to CID 31075, no problem. These are just examples of towers that I reach from my home. I get the same problem occuring other areas.
Any suggestions on what I need to change on my phone? Is my phone making a kind of 3G connection for some reason, which Rogers doesn't support? I have tried everything I can think of, including custom roms, change Android Radio Menu settings, etc. Nothing seems to fix this issue.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated!
I have an unlocked Samsung Galaxy S5 SM-G900V running Android 6.0.1. It was formerly on Verizon in the USA.
When I pop my Rogers SIM into from an old mostly broken Rogers S5 it activates fine, but only 3G - Not LTE.
I found an old thread here that seems to discuss a similar issue...
But when I try the "*#272*YOUR IMEI HERE#" trick mentioned in the thread I see -
USSD Code Running
Followed by "Unknown Application"
Any suggestions? I want it on LTE and I can't root the phone as I need to enroll it in my company's MDM.
Thanks in advance.
I am located in Vancouver. I am on the Fido network, which I believe is the same as the Rogers network.
From my understanding, Rogers uses band 17, but also has access to band 12?
Fido's website only mentions band 17; I assume Fido has access to band 12?
Band 12 (700 MHz) = Lower SMH blocks A/B/C
Band 17 (700 MHz) = Lower SMH blocks B/C

You have a lot of good questions there but I'm honestly not certain if any of the info I can provide will carry over to Fido's service. I am not trained in their services. You may want to reach out to Fido directly for more info.
While the frequency is 700mhz across both bands, as I understand it, they are not compatible with one another.
The answer to your other question is tricky and difficult to answer because of the way the licensing works in Canada. The "superior" band would be the one that has the most licenses issued and most sites that are active but that info is not readily available. More coverage means you're taking advantage of the 700mhz frequency more often.
If you have a choice, go with a phone that has both bands if your goal is to be on the 700mhz frequency as much as possible.
Show 3G Network only in LG G5
I am a tourist and your prepaid customer , can u check why my phone never shown 4G network in Toronto ? Only 3G available for me . My phone profit as below . My phone is dual sim and bought from HK.
