I've been here awhile

I'm about to purchase an unlocked AT&T phone with the following frequency band:

  • 2G Network GSM 850 / 900 / 1800 / 1900
  • 3G Network HSDPA 850 / 1900 / 2100
  • 4G Network LTE 700 MHz Class 17 / 1700 / 2100

I read that Rogers network band are:

  • 2G Network GSM 850 / 900 / 1800 / 1900
  • 3G Network HSDPA 850 / 1900 / 2100
  • 4G Network LTE 1700 / 2100 / 2600

 

Will my unlocked AT&T phone have 3G and 4G on Rogers' network?

The tower in question lists 850MHz and 2100MHz transmitters. How does LTE travel to and from this tower ..

The main LTE band is band 4, which is 2100mhz and 1700mhz. So if you purchase a booster it *should* work. However as everyone said, be sure the company has a good return policy incase things don't work out. 

 

But before you spend money on a booster, try wifi calling:

Hey everyone. Anyone know what Rogers' plans are with Band 2 deployment because I'm still stuck in a 3CA area (Peterborough County) 4, 7, 12. B2 has been deployed in the GTA @15mhz and I'm just curious where it's deployed and when it'll be available to me in Peterborough, ON. If anyone knows i'd love to know!

Knowing the right frequencies for your device is important. 


At Rogers, we are using 2G (GSM/EDGE) on the 850, 1900 MHz frequencies. 

 

We also run our  3G (UMTS/HSPA) networks on the 850, 1900 MHz frequencies. Out LTE network is deployed on 700 MHz (B12, B17),  1900 MHz (B2), 1700/2100 MHz (AWS, B4) and 2600 MHz (B7). 

 

Please note, not all bands are deployed in all areas.

OUKITEL k10

I recently bought a new phone online after doing extensive research and making sure that it would work on the Rogers network. I got the phone and it was everything I expected it to be till I discovered that it cannot connect to the 3G, 4G or LTE network so I contacted Rogers and they said basically that the frequency of the device does not match the network. The device I bought is called  OUKITEL K10. Any ideas or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

I would be pretty disappointed if I purchased a device that fit all of my needs only to find out that it is not supported by my Wireless network.

 

I have done some research on that specific device and it looks like it is only compatible with 1 of 9 possible 4G Bands, 0 of 3 possible 3G Bands and 2 of 2 possible 2G Bands in Canada. The B7 (2600 MHz) Band is the only 4G Band that it is compatible with that is also compatible with Rogers Network. Regrettably, this Band is only available in select markets. With this device only compatible with 3 out of 14 possible frequency Bands 2 of which being limited to 2G, it's safe to say that this device is not optimally designed for use on Canadian Wireless Networks.

 

It is important to check to see if a device will be compatible with the Frequency Bands of the country/provider you plan to be using it with. Please click the following link to see which Frequency Bands are compatible with the Rogers Network.

 

The B2(1900 MHz) and B5 (850 Mhz) is supported by Rogers on both 2G and 3G networks.

 

The B4 (1700/2100 MHz), B7 (2600 MHz) and B17 (700 MHz) are supported by Rogers on the LTE Network with  B4 (1700/2100 MHz) being the Main LTE Band providing complete coverage.

 

Please see below for the Frequency Bands compatible with the Oukitel K10:

 

4G LTE - B1 (2100 MHz), B3 (1800 MHz), B7 (2600 MHz), B8 (900 MHz), B20 (800 MHz)
3G - B1 (2100 MHz), B8 (900 MHz)
2G - B2 (1900 MHz), B3 (1800 MHz), B5 (850 MHz), B8 (900 MHz)

 

At this point, you're rather limited in your options to use this device to connect to the Wireless network in Canada but it can be used as a WiFi device. I know this may not be the answer you wanted to hear... =(

Motorola G7 power international model

I'm looking at buying this phone and want to make sure it will work with the Rogers network. Here are the numbers,
HSDPA 850 / 900 / 1700(AWS) / 1900 / 2100 - 4G LTE band 1(2100), 2(1900), 3(1800), 4(1700/2100), 5(850), 7(2600), 8(900), 12(700), 13(700), 17(700), 20(800), 25(1900), 26(850), 66(1700/2100), 38(2600), 40(2300), 41(2500) - Dual SIM (Nano-SIM, dual stand-by)

I appreciate you researching the frequencies/bands supported by Rogers' network before purchasing the phone. 

 

It seems like the Rogers 4G LTE bands - B4 (1700/2100 MHz), B7 (2600 MHz), B12 (700 MHz) as noted by RogersTony in the above post are available on the G7 phone. 

 

I concur with your assessment the phone should work on our network.

How to get 4G/LTE on samsung galaxy s8 european version (G950F)

So, i have a asamsung galaxy s8, european version, and i was wondering how can I get 4g/lte on my device. It currently only shows H+ or 3g signals. In the settings, i have set the network mode to 4g/3g/2g (auto), and it still doesnt give me 4g.

Does anyone know why?

First verify that it has the correct LTE bands

So it looks like the G950F does support the correct bands, the next thing is verify you have a newer SIM card that supports LTE. Next you can try to change/flash the CSC to Rogers, check out xda-developers for more info.

Hello, I checked that my sim card supports lte, by putting my sim card in my sisters phone, and it shows 4g in the notification bar. So im guessing its a CSC issue. 

So i tried searching the xda developers and other websites on how to change/flash rogers csc onto my phone. But i do not feel expereienced or talented enough to flash it myself. I was wondering if I could get a rogers agent to help me out in the process? By either helping over phone/chat or by bringing the phone to a rogers centre in person? (obviously because of the condition we are in, the in person would be a drop off and pick up)

As long as the device is functional and unlocked you should be able to use it with a Rogers SIM. If it is an unlocked device, you can test using your current Rogers SIM in the phone.

Hello, looking for some advice on buying a Redmi Note 8T.  Since I have had trouble with my Asus phone in rural areas, I wanted to check compatibility with the Rogers/AT&T Network.  Specs on the phone are as follows:

 2G: GSM B2/3/5/8,
 3G: WCDMA B1/2/4/5/8, 
 4G: FDD LTE B1/2/3/4/5/7/8/20/28; TDD LTE B38/40;
 
Is anyone able to confirm that this phone will work well with Rogers or suggest a different model that will?  Thanks!

In regards to your inquiry, we cannot guarantee that any grey market, third party device will operate on our network. We always recommend getting a device directly from us if you're concerned about support, because we can't offer much in the way of support for third party devices.

 

However, one of our awesome Community members may have experience using this third-party device on Rogers Network can perhaps guide you. If so, please share!

Hi, I have a cottage in McGregor Bay, Ontario and the only internet available is with my Rogers service which is very intermittent if trees get wet etc.

I am a Ham operator and have a 50ft tower on the island and am considering purchasing an Outdoor 4G Cellular Router which I would mount on the tower.

If necessary, I would feed it with a Yagi antenna directed at your cell site. I need to know frequency bands used to ensure my Yagi is optimised for the correct band.

Can you tell my which LTE band is used from the two accessible sites from my location:

1: The Lafarge whitefish terminal (cement plant) (46 deg 01’15.06N 81 deg 44’35.50W)

2: Willisville Tower just north of White fish falls. (46 deg 07’42.97N 81 deg 44’31.16W)

While we don't directly support such setups, I can get you pointed in the right direction by answering your question. Both of these tower sites broadcast 2G, 3G and LTE frequencies.

 

The Rogers network uses the following bands:

 

GSM and UMTS

 

  • 850 MHz  
  • 1900 MHz 

 

LTE

  • 700MHz (Band 12)
  • 1900MHz (Band 2)
  • 1700/2100MHz (AWS, Band 4)
  • 2600MHz (Band 7)
