Rogers Frequencies

momotarotaro
I've been here awhile

I'm about to purchase an unlocked AT&T phone with the following frequency band:

  • 2G Network GSM 850 / 900 / 1800 / 1900
  • 3G Network HSDPA 850 / 1900 / 2100
  • 4G Network LTE 700 MHz Class 17 / 1700 / 2100

I read that Rogers network band are:

  • 2G Network GSM 850 / 900 / 1800 / 1900
  • 3G Network HSDPA 850 / 1900 / 2100
  • 4G Network LTE 1700 / 2100 / 2600

Will my unlocked AT&T phone have 3G and 4G on Rogers' network?

Thanks

Re: Rogers Frequencies

Thanks for your kindness. How can I contact you direct ?

I tried everything including choosing Prefer LTE. The device is compatible with LTE CAT4 and works on 3,7,8 band of which Rogers has the 7. It should be compatible. However it kept on saying cannot register. It can detect the SIM card's name and number correctly. However it can't even send  an SMS to activate the network. Redmi told me there is only one version of the phone which means this phone should work.

My friend who has the same phone works but he's using the Rogers Pay As You Go card while mine is a subscribed SIM. Would it have made any difference ?

Hi. Can my phone access Rogers 2/3/4 G network?

2G: GSM / CDMA 1X (BANDS 2/3/5/8/BC0/BC1)
3G:TD-SCDMA (BANDS 34/39)
3G:WCDMA (BANDS 1/2/5/8)
4G:TD-LTE (BANDS 38/39/40/41)
4G:FDD-LTE (BANDS 1/3/7)

Thank you.

Re: Rogers Frequencies

@mqtsui That device should work on GSM bands 5 & 2 (850mhz and 1900mhz), 3G-WCDMA bands 5 & 2 (850mhz and 1900mhz), and 4G FDD LTE Band 7 (2600 mhz) where available.

Rogers has the best Band 7 LTE coverage and that band provides superior speeds and reliability. If you're in a Band 7 coverage area you will be very happy with the coverage. I am fortunate in Halifax to have band 7 coverage and it is great and reliable.

I am looking at buying a doogee x5 pro, frequencies are 2G: GSM 850/900/1800/1900 Mhz,   3G: 900/2100 Mhz , 4G: FDD-LTE 800/900/1800/2100/2600MHz, could you let me know if it will work with Rogers and which band, thank you

That device should work on GSM at 850mhz and 1900mhz and 4G FDD LTE Band 7 (2600 mhz) where available. There can be issues when the phone hands over to GSM from the LTE network for voice calls when there's little or no 3G support.

Rogers has the best Band 7 LTE coverage and that band provides superior speeds and reliability. If you're in a Band 7 coverage area you will be very happy with the coverage. If you're not, you'll have a GSM smartphone.

Re: Rogers Frequencies

Dear scoalegil,

My Redmi 2 which is LTE Band 7 (2600Mhz) FDD compatible cannot work with Rogers in Ottawa. Besides you said you would respond to my question to my e-mail, I haven't got it.

Thank you.

would lte work on this phone

with a band 1,3,7, 20 (800,1800,2100,2600 MHZ)

as you can see, the frequencies match rogers but the band is not, would LTE still work?

Hello,

I am interested in buying a phone from China. This is what it says on the website about supported frequencies:

"- Support 2G 3G 4G network: GSM 850/900/1800/1900 & WCDMA 850/900/2100 MHz 4G LTE 850/900/1800/1900/2300/2600MHZ"

Will I get 3G/4G speeds on the Rogers network with this phone?

Thank you for your help!

Re: Rogers Frequencies

Good day @Dontknowalot,

It would be my pleasure to help you shed some light on this. Smiley Wink

While we cannot assure you that you get access to our LTE network, and that we can unfortunately not guarantee the functionality of a non-Rogers device, we do have the 1900 MHz spectrum nationally and it should be compatible with the phone you are looking to purchase.

You should therefore have the ability to use the device in question (see GSM & LTE 1900 bands), as it should technically work on the Rogers network.

Cheers!

Would anyone know if the new Microsoft Lumia 550 will work on the Rogers Network? The tech specs say it takes a Nano SIM. Thanks.

I bought a Redmi 2 from Hong Kong. After I inserted the Roger's sim card, the phone can idenify the sim card and phone number but no service. The Redmi 2 uses the following frequencies:

4G: Band 3 (1800 MHz), Band 7 (2600 MHz) and Band 8 (900 MHz)

3G: WCDMA (900/2100 MHz)

2G: GSM (900/1800 MHz)

How can I make the phone work?

Thanks

Re: Rogers Frequencies

G'day @jjkwai,

4G: Band 3 (1800 MHz), Band 7 (2600 MHz) and Band 8 (900 MHz) <-- Rogers has partial coverage for Band 7, 2600
3G: WCDMA (900/2100 MHz) <-- Rogers has 850 and 1900
2G: GSM (900/1800 MHz) <-- Rogers has 850 and 1900

Basically the bad news is this device will not likely work on the Rogers network except in select locations where the 2600 LTE band is working and then it will only work for data. The LTE network is a data network unless you have one of a select few devices that support VoLTE.  Even then, the VoLTE will not be as consistent as you'd expect from the 3G/GSM network.

It is important to choose a device that supports 850/1900 3G as well as 2600 LTE. That said, your best bet is to have a device that supports 1700 LTE for the best coverage.

@MR00

Looking at the specifications of the device, it should be compatible.

A friendly reminder that although it may be compatible on our network, we cannot guarantee the functionality of a non-Rogers device.

I've been around

I plan to buy a Sony Z5 Premium

UMTS HSPA+ 850 (Band V), 900 (Band VIII), 1900 (Band II),
AWS-1(Band IV), 2100 (Band I) MHz
GSM GPRS/EDGE 850, 900, 1800, 1900 MHz
LTE (Bands 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 7, 8, 12, 17, 20, 38, 39, 40, 41)

Will the phone work on Rogers' 4G network?

Thanks in advance!

Re: Rogers Frequencies

@globlin,

After reviewing the specifications of your Sony Z5 Premium, it appears that it may be compatible with our network. That device should work on GSM at 850mhz and 1900mhz and 4G FDD LTE Band 7 (2600 mhz) where available.

Please keep in mind that we cannot guarantee the functionality of a non-Rogers device.

For any further questions please feel free to view this useful page, Will my unlocked mobile device work with the Rogers network?

Hope this helps!

Hello

I jsut want to know if my One plus X will work on the Rogers Network.  The phone has 4G LTE capabilities.  Are you able to confirm that the LTE will work.  I have read conflicting info that it might or might not work

Thank-you

I'm a reliable contributor

@kooleeoh looking at the OnePlus X specs, the wireless band look to support Rogers 3G/4G (HSPA+) networks and some LTE bands -- from my knowledge, it looks good.

OnePlus X Frequencies:

GSM: 850, 900, 1800, 1900MHz
WCDMA: Bands 1/2/4/5/8
FDD-LTE: Bands 1/2/4/5/7/8
