Unidentified Device on WiFi Hub App

Am trying to map all the devices showing up in ignite WiFi hub.  There is a device showing with only a MAC address that is using almost half of the WiFi activity for the day on the network but I can’t figure out what it is.  Have done a MAC address search but does not show up.

@RDG5Are you connecting directly to the XB6 gateway/modem or do you do you have an eero Wi-Fi mesh installed?  If the latter, the device with the high activity could be the eero hub.

Either way, you should be able to look up the either the OUI portion or the complete MAC address with https://www.wireshark.org/tools/oui-lookup.html

Connecting direct.  There was a Tp-link extender installed but that has been picked up by auto discovery.

other than the IP address, all I know about this device is a MAC address of 6E:FF:7B:0A.....

I don’t think it is an actual device.  I think it may be a broadcast address between the router and the two tv boxes.  When I paused it, my ignite tv stopped working

@RDG5 I think that this is likely the "virtual MAC address" of a device when connected through a range extender that's configured in "proxy mode".  https://www.tp-link.com/us/support/faq/927/

If this is the case, the last three hex digits of this mystery MAC address should match the last three digits of a known device's actual MAC address.  (The first three hex digits of the mystery address will be the first three digits of the range extender's MAC address with one bit (sometimes more) flipped in the first digit.  That's why the OUI lookup doesn't find anything.)
