What is going on with WiFi 6 and my XB7 Gateway with Ignite Internet Gigabit-Unltd plan (1GB/200MB)?
The download/upload speedtest on my Win 11 laptop, about 5' from the Gateway, was fairly consistent at 707/172, but starting about a month ago the speeds will drop to 130/62 within 5 minutes, and on some occasions to as low as 60/10.
Speedtest on my older non WiFi 6 secondary router, ethernet connected to the Gateway, is 462/162.
Disabling/enabling the network adapter from the Control Panel will bring the speed back up for a short while. The Gateway has been cold started but that has not helped.
Consistent results can be achieved by downgrading the "802.11n/ac Wireless Mode" setting, in the Advanced Properties in the Intel(R) WiFi 6E AX211 160Mhz Network adapter, from 802.11ax to 802.11ac. With this change speedtest now reports 584/154, and 523/161 on the secondary router.
I can live with the 802.11ac speeds but why is the 802.11ax for WiFi6 not working?

Only have one device with WiFi 6. I had a 2.4 GHz POD, ethernet connected, located in a remote room far away from where the PC was being used. The problem was still present even with the POD disconnected, but removing it from the profile seems to have settled the erratic Band Steering issue. I do not understand why this worked for months and then became an issue.
When I have the time I might do a reset of the Gateway and activate the POD to see if it works normally again.

What version of the Intel Wi-Fi driver are you using? Did you download it from Intel's web site or are you using whatever version got installed by your PC vendor or Windows Update?
I have run into all sorts of weird interoperability issues between the Intel ax200/ax210 Wi-Fi drivers and the Broadcom WiFi chipset/drivers in the Technicolor XB7 and XB8 gateways. When they play nicely together, performance is great. When they do not, it is not pretty.

This started recently while running the latest driver from Intel. There may have been a couple of updates during the last month. I uninstalled and then was able to revert to the Intel version from when I got the PC six months ago, but same problem. I have rebooted many times.

Good morning @Bplayer!
Is this issue only affecting this one Windows 11 laptop? Have you had a chance to test WiFi 6 speeds on any other device? Please let us know.
