SMB (Port 445) Port Forwarding Not Working

User2421
I've been here awhile

Hello,

I forwarded a few ports from a device on my network.

All but one port (445, SMB) are being forwarded, even though I can confirm that the port is working from within the network.

I also tried disabling firewall, but still no difference.

I'm using a Technicolor XB6 (with Ignite Wi-Fi).

Is anyone else having this problem, and is there a solution or workaround for this?

Thanks

Good evening @User2421,

Welcome to the Rogers Community Forums!

You've definitely come to the right place! While I'm not well versed in the matter I'm sure our resident experts @Gdkitty, @Datalink and @-G- would be glad to share their insights with you!

Sorry, I have never tried to set this up.  However, does Rogers even allow SMB connections through their network?  Some customers have reported receiving security alert emails from Rogers (and threats to suspend their service) when active SMB/NetBIOS ports are detected during network security scans.  Others have also reported difficulties getting SMB working through their Rogers gateways: https://communityforums.rogers.com/t5/Internet/Does-Rogers-block-port-445-SMB/td-p/420347
