FYI, Rogers has quietly announced some new hardware: the Rogers Xfinity Router with WiFi 7

https://www.rogers.com/support/internet/faqs-about-rogers-xfinity-router-with-wifi-7-fast-and-reliab...

Rogers has not issued any press releases as of yet; not for their DOCSIS 4.0 trials or for this new piece of hardware.  In the FAQ, they only say, "It's now available in some areas of Calgary with the Rogers Xfinity Internet Pro 4 Gigabit plan or bundle. It will be available in more areas in the coming months."

Based on the description, this is not the (much awaited) XB10 Gateway... rather, it is either the XER5 or XER10 router for which full details are just starting to emerge.  Sensitive information, such as Internal and External Photos, as well as the User Manual have been under embargo, and have also only just been made public today.

Here is a link to the Sercomm XER10 certification documents: https://gov.fccid.io/P27XER10

Vantiva is also manufacturing another variant of the XER10; also the XER5.

This XB10, XER5 and XER10 hardware is being discussed here: https://communityforums.rogers.com/t5/Internet/Comcast-officially-unveils-its-new-XB10-Gateway-and-X...

I have not been able to get any information about the hardware being used in the DOCSIS 4.0 trial in Calgary.  The only thing that Rogers has said publicly is that they are testing a DOCSIS 4.0 service with 4 Gigabit download and 1 Gigabit upload speeds.  It probably is not using DOCSIS 4 FDX.  I am guessing that that are using this modem, which is why they would require a Rogers Xfinity Router.

One thing that I found surprising is that according to the (now published) Users Manual, the Sercomm XER10 has a 10 Gigabit Ethernet WAN port but only has 1 Gigabit LAN ports.  I hope that this is an error... but, if true, it would make the XER10 almost as useless as using the XB8 in Rogers FTTH installations.

Enough speculation.  Hopefully we will get more details soon.

Edit: The Sercomm XER10 Users Manual needs a small update.  If you look at the port labels on the back of the actual unit, you will see that the XER10 has three 1 Gigabit Ethernet LAN ports and one 10 Gigabit Ethernet LAN port.
