Re: Rogers Hitron CODA-4582 Hardware

@Datalink

Update to my issue.

I had a tech come in today. tested and agreed that it was slow. He added a "tamper" on the co-ax cable as he said the signal was too high. He immediacy ended up getting 600Mbps! The little device was added at the modem.

Do you see any changes here?

Re: Rogers Hitron CODA-4582 Hardware

@Shafeen the downstream levels have dropped by about 0.5 dB, the upstream numbers have increased by 6 dB, which is a lot, but, still well within specs.  Thats more than a little strange, unless the attenuator that he added only affects the upstream levels.  I've never seen an attenutaor that does that.

The question is, what if anything did that do for your download/upload test results?

Re: Rogers Hitron CODA-4582 Hardware

@Shafeen, ok, your getting 600 Mb/s on a 500 Mb/s plan, that's not too bad.  19 Mb/s up is a little slow.  It should probably max out around 22 to 23 Mb/s, but, that's not terribly bad.

@Rogers-Dave

I have a really poor HSI F2 Graph, I am paying for the 500u package and currently getting 195mbps download and 22mbps upload. I have received a credit for the last (15) days of . service. finally had a tech put in a request for the maintenance team today, due to the bad F2 graph.

Is there anything you can assist with from your end to make sure they finally fix this issue? I have literally been have sluggish internet issues now, on and off, for (2) years .... very frustrating. Luckily I have received a few credits when it was really bad, but still.

@99bobster99@RogersDave has departed Rogers for Hitron.  Do you know if your modem is running DOCSIS 3.1, as seen by a light blue Downstream indicator LED at the front of the modem?   The STATUS .... DOCSIS WAN OFDM Downstream section will also show one OFDM channel as active.

@Datalink

Just did a new test and am getting 600Mbps / 22Mbps.

How is it that all the tech needed to do was add an attenuator? What If I had not bothered calling a tech. I would never had gotten the speeds I am supposed to....

Re: Rogers Hitron CODA-4582 Hardware

There is a good chance that the tech replaced the external connectors, which will help.  Don't worry, I would have had you call tech support.  I can only do so much.  After that, its time for a tech, or for the engineering staff to step in.

@Datalink
Thanks you so much for all your help! I really appreciate it.
All my wired devices are getting 600. I have an issue with one laptop that maxes out at 150 but does have a gigabit nic. Will figure it out.

woohoo, did you ask the CSR to check the modem's provisioning?   Just curious if you had a chance to pose the question?

Oh yeah ... lol But it seems a very good question, I am still not sure what they did but I am enjoying Youtube streaming without issues at all, no stuttering at all and I downloaded FarCry5 in like 6 minutes, after that it downloaded in the background.  Yes, this certainly is a large improvement.
