Re: Rogers Gaming & Streaming Lab

Hello,

I've been having major lag issues with Counter-Strike Global Offensive over the last 2 months. Running no background apps and hard wired with a cat6 on 150 ignite.

I am experiencing NO choke and NO loss yet I'm a walking slide show in the server. I've done some tests and it seems like my buffer bloat is EXTREMELY bad.

Re: Rogers Gaming & Streaming Lab

Hello @marz23,

Welcome to the Community!

As a customer myself who relies heavily on the internet I can certainly appreciate the concern when it isn't performing as needed! Can you complete a traceroute to the ingest server so we can identify if there's an issue within the network.

@marz23

Your issue is caused by the high latency..

run a continuous ping test to your preferred target and you'll see bumps +100ms every other ping.

I play CS GO as well and experience the same issues. I played my league matches on my LTE because Rogers' network is bad.

Re: Rogers Gaming & Streaming Lab

Hello, @marz23.

Thank you for running the traceroute to one of your gaming servers. It seems the packets are leaving our network after the 5th hop. Most of the high pings are close to the destination. Have you reported these high pings to your game support yet?

We can run a few tests on your connection and node to make sure all the levels are within the specs. Feel free to send us a private message at @ComunityHelps. You can find details about our private messaging in this blog.

Cheers,

RogersMoin

Re: Rogers Gaming & Streaming Lab

No, I have not reported these issues to the game support. Other people I play with around the world do not have the same lagging experience I do (people from Canada/US I play online with).

Thank you for taking the time to test my connection. Please let me know the results. In the meantime I have also PM'd @CommunityHelps. Thanks for your response and I hope we can fix this.

Regards.

Re: Rogers Gaming & Streaming Lab

Get used to the excuses! My son is a pro gamer(plays COD) and for over a year we have had constant packet loss! We have had techs come here and never find an issue. They say the same thing (everything is within specs). Obviously something is wrong and Rogers either doesn't know how to fix the issue or isn't willing to fix the issue! Pathetic that he has to use my Cell Phone hotspot to play his tournaments and strange how the hotspot is better than the Rogers wired internet.

Good Luck!

With results like these you best believe your son's gaming will be affected... 😭

Re: Rogers Gaming & Streaming Lab

Hi everyone,
Looking for some help here I’m at my wits end. For 6 years at this location and 3 different modems through Rogers and same terrible latency. I mostly play online shooters and it’s hard to play when you proceed to shoot someone with 30 bullets and they don’t die :(. I know I’m bad but come on.... then there are times that it works for a few days then back to the same garbage. 6 years of this on different game systems and computer. Definitely a Rogers issue with no fix in sight :(. If anyone can help or direct me to who can that would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you
