Thank you for the suggestion Gdkitty. I tried going that route, I've been told they do not have them yet either.
That said, I went to my local rogers store and got the advanced wifi modem for now, just so I can actually get useage out of the new plan i'm paying for, Worked like a charm, may wait a month until all this craziness settles down and then get my rocket modem.
Either way, I wouldn't have figured any of this out without your help Gdkitty as the Rogers employees (I tried calling stores, the servide number and, the chat) were not as free with the information. I should say, in fairness to the lady at my local Rogers store, she was great and I took her card. She's my go-to now.
Update on my issue with the new modem not working properly, or getting proper speeds. After getting two different tickets assigned, three different CSR's calling me back, it seems my modem is defective; HOWEVER, they will not swap it out unless I test it with a SECOND wired device. I don't have a second wired device!!! How dare they ask me to borrow someone else's computer to test my modem????
I am on the phone now, having asked for an escalation to a supervisor. Just because I don't have two wired devices in my home, gives them more time to drag this issue out. I am fed up, enough to the point where I just may bring this to a media help line. It's been drawn out enough!
So, I got disconnected and hooked up with another CSR, who tells me that although it's unforunate that the technician brought ou the new modem with a CAT 5E cable, I NEED TO GO TO THE ROGERS STORE TO GET THE CAT 6. No apologies for the inconvenience, and this still doesn't help with fact that I am getting half the speed (now 44 down). When will this madness end? Once I cut ties with Rogers once and for all? It's coming....
On the phone with a Supervisor, who proceeded to tell me that speeds from 44 to 72 are acceptable.
IN whose world of 100U????
If you have any thoughts that the modem you have is malfunctioning, take it back to the nearest Rogers store and exchange it. That shouldn't be a problem. Cat 5e cable?? Bah...
Just for interests sake, can you log into the modem, navigate to the DOCSIS WAN page, copy the downstream and upstream tables and paste them into this thread. I'm wondering what the cable signal levels are at.
aLOL!!!! None of the Rogers stores here in Hamilton have this modem! We went to three different stores, and were told that only technicians can bring them for installation, as there is no inventory! Sorry, have you read downthread, yet? That was the first of my issues!

That shows only 12 channels... which is way lower than what 'traditional' Rogers areas in Ontario have.
This is the Hamilton that was recently acquired by Rogers from Mountain/Shaw/somebody, right? If so, then as I've said before, my sense is that the network there is not up to the usual Rogers standards (i.e. 21 channels on D3 for example) and that's probably the cause of performance issues...
You know that, Vivien...and I didn't. Just proves that Rogers staff are either misinformed, or just don't care, or both.
In any case, I had to pretty much tell the supervisor that two hours on the phone was enough, I was hanging up and hubby would be cancelling tomorrow. Then, and only then, did he allow me to book some time for a technician to come out.
