As you can see, my first hop might as well be in california XD..... this is google.ca , imagine some random server I need to connect to, when I run testmy.net html5 test, I get like 15mbps results LOL, steam downloads dont go above 500mbps to toronto.... same with blizzard...

Here are my modem stats, it has actually gotten WORSE since yesterday when I posted that graph:

As for the senior tech visit (poor guy I feel bad for him), yet again he came, and I didn't even need to see him, he called me and said I can't believe maintenance cancelled this request, I called my maintenance manager and let him have it, I took pictures of what the area looks like and I forwarded it to an ondemand maintenance request, lets see if the leprechauns will appear this time. As for my routing issue, I didn't even get to bring it up, as I had no interaction again really with the tech because he didn't even need to come to me to know what was going on he just sat outside and knew already. Honestly if there is one thing I realized during this 8 month ordeal to get what I am paying for is that the various departments in rogers have no continuity with eachother, it's almost like each one is there own head of state with no oversight over one another. Let me know what you think.

Ok, at this point its time to get the mods involved thru @CommunityHelps.  They can get the maintenance staff involved from their end.  Follow that link, and on the right hand side follow the link to "Send this user a private message".  That take you to an already addressed message composition page.  Fill in the title, and a few details, including this thread link, and they will get back to you via private message.

Just for the record, you're on a Casa Systems CMTS.  Thats the primary cause of the high ping time to the second node, which is the Casa CMTS.  The techs can't help with that.  That's an engineering problem that is being worked on.  The poor signal levels, that's for the techs and maintenance staff to resolve, and that's where @CommunityHelps can assist.

thanks for the prompt reply, I believe maintenance should be coming out today (on-demand) as per the senior tech, how about we give them a chance before I message them online

Re: FEEDBACK - Rogers Rocket Wi-Fi Modem Firmware Trial

Yup, sounds ok to me.

What you can do with pingplotter, is use the address on the second line as your target server.  Just copy that address and paste it into the address bar and ping the CMTS.  Change the time on the bottom to something like 5 or 10 minutes or longer.  When you do that you will see plots that look very similar to the plots contained in the first and second row of my image library:

http://communityforums.rogers.com/t5/media/gallerypage/user-id/829158

That is what the Rogers engineering staff, along with Casa and Hitron are working to resolve, as you pointed out in the above image.  The high ping times raise the average ping, in my case from 10 ms to a 20 to 30 ms range.

Re: FEEDBACK - Rogers Rocket Wi-Fi Modem Firmware Trial

just a side note, what also concerns me is the routing compared to my buddy in oakville (I presume he is still on a cisco cmts I can ask him to check later), you can clearly see an issue in the following image, this results in an average of 30ms+ more ping for me compared to him to the same servers that we both connect to:

Re: FEEDBACK - Rogers Rocket Wi-Fi Modem Firmware Trial

I was looking at my network broadcasts (using http://www.nirsoft.net/utils/wifi_information_view.html) and I can see 2  2.4 Ghz channels being broadcasted:

SSID MAC Address PHY Type RSSI Signal Quality Average Signal Quality Frequency Channel Information Size Elements Count Company Router Model Router Name Security Cipher Maximum Speed Channel Width Channels Range BSS Type WPS Support First Detection Detection Count Minimum Signal Quality Maximum Signal Quality

Thomas 1D-ZE-R1-43-30-98 802.11n -43 95 92.9 2.462 11 169 13 WPA2-PSK TKIP+CCMP 216 Mbps 20 MHz 9 - 13 Infrastructure No 8/10/2016 7:26:45 PM 109 75 99

1D-ZE-R1-43-30-4A 802.11n -47 88 90.9 2.462 11 191 14 WPA-PSK + WPA2-PSK TKIP+CCMP 216 Mbps 20 MHz 9 - 13 Infrastructure No 8/10/2016 7:26:45 PM 49 86 99

I have renamed the MAC Address and SSID for security reasons.

A couple things stand out:

1) there are 2 different MAC address for the 2.4 Ghz bands (which may be fine) but the question is why is there 2 bands being displayed?

2) one of the channels has the correct security of WPA2-PSK, but the other  shows up as WPA-PSK + WPA2-PSK which makes it look like a bug with the firmware.

3) Both of the networks are on channel 11 and one does not even display the SSID

Could someone please look into this issue as having worked in the security sector, having this second broadcast can cause a hacker to get access into the network.  For security reasons, I won't list exactly HOW or what tools are needed, but there is a back door that is open here that should be shut.

FYI, my modem info is as follows:

CGNM-3552-ROG

Hardware Version 1A
Software Version 4.5.8.22

Thanks

Re: FEEDBACK - Rogers Rocket Wi-Fi Modem Firmware Trial

@mahomed the secondary, or ghost network issue has already been passed on to the engineering staff.  I haven't seen anything back on this so I don't know if it will be rectified any time soon.

Re: FEEDBACK - Rogers Rocket Wi-Fi Modem Firmware Trial

My CGNM-3552-ROG is running .22 in bridge mode on the Gigabit plan. Since I've upgraded, as other users have been reporting my ping has increased to the CMTS and video games. Random packet loss between 4-8% and the modem is rebooting randomly throughout the day every hour sometimes every 20-30 minutes.

Currently have a tech booked to troubleshoot the packet loss issue, modem has been replaced three times already and during the last two tech visits all terminations leading up to the modem have been replaced. Still no explanation on what is causing the modem to reboot. I peformed a factory reset when the modem was updated to .22 earlier this week.

The three repeating logs on the modem are:

1    08/10/16 18:04:52    90000000    warning    MIMO Event MIMO: Stored MIMO=-1 post cfg file MIMO=-1;CM-MAC=1c:ab:c0;CMTS-MAC=00:17:10;CM-QOS=1.1;CM-VER=3.0;
